An Australian actress looked unrecognisable in a pair of quirky sunglasses as she enjoyed a stroll through London on Wednesday – can you identify the star?

The star seemingly went makeup-free for her relaxing day out in the capital, shielding her eyes with the 70s style, bright orange aviators.

She wore a navy blue wool coat with a shirt of the same hue underneath that coordinated with her eyewear.

The award-winner topped off her look with a pair of smart trousers and slipped into some chunky soled suede shoes.

She pulled her blonde hair back from her face and carried a large purple leather handbag.

That’s right, it’s Cate Blanchett!

Cate’s outing comes after award-winning actor Ke Huy Quan recalled some advice that the actress one shared with him.

The star is still on cloud 9 since winning the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Everything Everywhere All at Once.

The 51-year-old posed with his Oscar for the cover story of Variety, one day after his big win.

Sharing the poignant advice during a recent interview, he said: ‘I attended an event recently and sat next to Cate Blanchett.

‘I told her that I don’t know what I’m going to do next, but I feel I have a responsibility to do something good, and that I don’t want to disappoint all the people that have support me.’

‘And she said, “Just go with your heart and be irresponsible: Don’t worry about what other people think. Choose something that you believe in, choose something that you love, and things will work out.'”

Ke does not have any projects lined up at the moment but previously wrapped two series American Born Chinese and Loki season two, as well as the movie The Electric State.

Two-time Oscar winner Cate was up for her third Academy Award with a Best Actress nomination for her work in the psychological drama Tár.

Unfortunately she missed out at the event when the award was won by Michelle Yeoh for her role in the sci-fi flick.

Malaysian-born Yeoh is the first Asian woman to win the Best Actress award.
