AJ Odudu and Will Best were announced as the hosts of the brand new Big Brother reboot on Tuesday.

The Strictly star and former T4 presenter, who is known for his role on Dance Dance Dance, will front the reality show when it returns to screens on ITV2 this Autumn.

A source told MailOnline: ‘They have genuine real chemistry and it was an absolute no brainer when they screen tested.’

Speaking about her new role, AJ said: ‘I’m so excited to finally be able to say that, yes: I’m hosting Big Brother! I couldn’t be happier.’

She added: ‘Following in the footsteps of some of my favourite broadcasting legends to front such an iconic show is an absolute honour – and to do it alongside my amazing friend Will is the icing on the cake.’

Will explained: ‘I grew up with Big Brother so getting a chance to host it with my mate AJ is a dream come true. I can’t wait to tell some housemates not to swear.’

Paul Mortimer, Director of Reality Commissioning for ITV2 and ITVX, said: ‘AJ and Will really are our perfect pairing as we prepare to reintroduce Big Brother to the next generation.

‘With a genuine chemistry, both of them will bring effortless wit, charm and heaps of character to their roles and we’re delighted to be working with them both again.’

Last week, AJ broke her silence on being tipped to become the new host of the rebooted Big Brother.

During an appearance on ITV’s Lorraine on Wednesday, AJ explained she has ‘grafted’ for the last 15 years for big opportunities.

Lorraine asked AJ: ‘Your name is in the ring for a lot of things. It wasn’t always like that though was it?’

AJ responded: ‘I have been grafting away for a long time. 15 years. It is so amazing to not only have shows like the big interiors battle but to have my name tipped for anything is incredible.’

Hard work: During an appearance on ITV ‘s Lorraine on Wednesday, AJ explained she has ‘grafted’ for the last 15 years for big opportunities as she discussed the rumours

It was previously reported that Emily Atack, 32, and Vick Hope, 33, were battling it out to host the show and had been in talks with TV bosses for several weeks, alongside fellow hopeful Roman Kemp, 29.

Big Brother was confirmed to be returning to screens when a teaser was aired during the Love Island 2022 final in August. The civilian edition of the programme last aired on Channel 5 in 2018.

The rebooted series was originally slated to air in March, but the programme was delayed due to the number of entertainment shows airing on ITV at the start of 2023, such as winter Love Island and the All Stars edition of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!.

An ITV spokesperson told MailOnline late last year that ‘owing to the influx of big reality TV programming on air during the first half of 2022 we have taken the decision to move the transmission of Big Brother to a more prominent slot in the Autumn. This gives our viewers a whole calendar of big reality TV formats across the year.’
