‘I have cellulite, stretch marks and I gain weight!’: Camila Cabello vows to keep using her platform to promote body positivity
She recently took to TikTok to stress to her fans that ‘being at war with your body is so last season’.
And Camila Cabello doubled down on her body positive message as she spoke with Ross King about using social media to normalise her body’s ‘cellulite and stretch marks’.
Appearing on ITV’s Lorraine on Tuesday, the 24-year-old singer mused: ‘Yesterday I had a day off. I was just like, “I can’t be on social media today,” because it makes my brain go so fast and sometimes you just need to take a break’.

She continued: ‘But I think that social media can be a good thing, like that video about my body and being like, “I have cellulite and stretch-marks and gain weight sometimes and that’s normal.”‘
Commenting that it’s liberating to post something that has a message to it, Camila said she believes, for female popstars, their narrative can be written for them.
‘Social media lets me take control of my own narrative and share who I really am as opposed to having people tell me who I am,’ the former X Factor USA finalist said.

Camila’s interview came after she shared a TikTok video last month where she opened up about being ‘grateful’ for the skin she is in.
Filming from inside her car, the Havana hitmaker started by explaining that she was just ‘minding my own business’ and ‘trying to be fit’ while out on a run.
Camila then pointed out that she was wearing an athletic top that exposed her midsection, which she ‘did not tuck into [her] leggings.’

Camila explained that she is ‘a normal person who doesn’t tuck [her stomach] in all the time’, and that worrying about such things can be exhausting.
‘I reminded myself that being at war with your body is so last season,’ she continued.
The Latin Grammy Award winner went on to remark that she was ‘grateful for this body that lets me do what I need to do.’

Camila revealed she invited her actual family members to feature alongside her, explaining: ‘I got my dad, sister, cousins, my squad – it’s really a family affair.
‘My family usually don’t want to be in videos, my cousin does, but my dad and sis don’t.’
The music video, directed by Philippa Price and Pilar Zeta, looked very much like scenes from a 1980s-era Almodóvar film.

The video opened with Camila driving solo in a convertible and changing the station on the car radio.
It then changed to a stop motion animation style as a toy-like version of the car drove up a dirt road to a manor.
Camila, back in live action, rang the door bell and was warmly greeted into a lively, colorful party that featured some of her actual family members, including her father, sister and cousin.
