Davina McCall says she feels it's her 'duty to live her best life'

‘I feel it’s my duty to live my best life’: Davina McCall, 53, says she wants to show life isn’t over at 50… after declaring ‘growing old disgracefully is more fun’

She’s always spoken candidly about having fun in her 50s, previously saying she feels like a ‘foxy minx’ and has ‘zero intention of growing old gracefully’.

And Davina McCall, 53, has now admitted that she feels like it’s ‘her duty to live her best life’ and show others how much fun can be had in their older decades.

Speaking on The Mid•Point podcast with sports pundit Gabby Logan, Davina said: ‘I used to look at the 50s and think, “It’s over, once you turn 50 — that’s it”.’

Having fun: Davina McCall, 53, has said she feels it’s ‘her duty to live her best life’ and show others how much fun can be had in their older decades

However revealing she’s had a change of heart, Davina added: ‘I feel it’s my duty to live my best life to show all the 30 and 40-year-olds, and even 20-year-olds.’

It comes as the Masked Singer host hit back at a comment on Twitter which told her she was ‘too old’ for a stunning skin-tight white dress she wore on the show.

The woman had penned: ‘Old over sun-kissed woman should cover up … stunning dress but not for the wrinkly crinkly… demure for the mature.’

However Davina wrote: ‘Really sorry. Absolutely no chance of demure over here Sue… growing old disgracefully is far more fun,’ alongside cry laughing emoji.

Stunning: The TV presenter, 53, has often spoken candidly about having lots of fun in her 50s, previously saying she feels like a ‘foxy minx’

She also spoke about the exchange on her podcast, saying her first thought was ‘poor Sue’ when friends told her she was trending on Twitter.

The TV star said: ‘Somebody wrote something which I thought was quite funny, but she was like “you wrinkly, old haggard, shouldn’t be dressed like that, it’s not very demure”, and I just thought I’ll just send a funny message back going, “sorry Sue but have absolutely zero intention of growing old gracefully, demure is not for me” and left it at that.

‘Two of my friends messaged me and were like your trending on Twitter and I said why, I couldn’t ever remember writing it. And they said it was because of something you replied to.

‘My first thought was “poor Sue, is she taking an absolute hammering?” Apparently she’s deleted her Twitter account. I feel terrible, I didn’t mean to.

Confident: Mum-of-three Davina clapped back at a comment on Twitter after appearing on The Masked Singer last week, saying ‘growing old disgracefully is far more fun’

‘I’m just going to let people insult me from now on, it was meant to be a joke, that’s why I put her name in the reply.’

Davina has often spoken about her fun 50s, saying she ‘still enjoys orgasms’ and ‘feels like a foxy minx’ while walking round naked as well as revealing she has had her nipple re-pierced as she graced the cover of Women’s Health in August.

The presenter – who is mum to Holly, 18, Tilly, 16 and Chester, 13 – told Women’s Health: ‘I don’t look as good naked as I did in my twenties. But I feel better, and that’s the difference.

‘I walk around like a foxy minx now because I feel like a foxy minx. Women over 50 feel sexy… we still enjoy orgasms…

‘People say, “Oh, it’s all gone…menopause…you’re finished with your wizened, dried-up ovaries.” I feel like it’s really important to say that people in their fifties are having the time of their lives.’

Wow! Davina wasn’t disguising anything as she wowed once again in a stunning sheer halter gown in a snap she shared to her Instagram on Saturday ahead of The Masked Singer airing

‘I’m going to let people insult me from now on’: She shared a rare snap with boyfriend Michael Douglas, 46, on Friday as she admitted guilt over hitting back at troll who mocked her look

Davina also discussed how confident she is feeling in a chat with magazine This Is Davina in collaboration with Best magazine, back in 2019.

She wrote: ‘It’s not about what your body looks like, it’s about feeling good enough to walk around in your undies regardless of your shape.’

Adding: ‘I am literally half nun, half wild child… part of me just wants to do naughty things, like flash my boobs on a red carpet, and that is terrible!’

The beauty is currently dating Michael Douglas, 46, after splitting from her husband Matthew Robertson in 2017, who is the father of her three children.

The new couple, who were friends for years before embarking on their romance, first announced their relationship in 2019.
