It is an undeniable fact that K-Pop is starting to have a place in the western music scene. Just recently, Bangtan Boys a.k.a. BTS further validated their place in Hollywood after bagging Favorite Social Artist Award at the 2018 American Music Awards. This marked another victory for the seven-piece group which first stole attention from people around the world following their win for Top Social Artist Award at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards.

The award launches BTS to stardom in the U.S. with many big Hollywood stars claiming to be a fan. It may not be shocking if BTS gets some teen stars under their skin with their music and looks, but would you believe that 40-something stars are secretly enjoying them just as much as youngsters nowadays?


Not only BTS, but also the likes of Girls’ Generation and Wonder Girls have spread the K-Pop virus among Hollywood stars. So let’s find out which big celebrities who have a crush on these Korean idols.

1. DJ Khaled & NCT 127


Joe even enlisted the South Korean girl group, who disbanded in January 2017, to join the Jonas Brothers in various North American tour dates in 2009, serving as their opening act for their entire tour.

3. Emma Stone & 2NE1


She revealed that she met the group during her promotion for “The Amazing Spider-Man“. The “La La Land” star went on saying that her favorite song of 2NE1 was their 2011 single titled “I Am the Best”.

4. Lady Gaga & Jay Park & Hyuna


“Lady Gaga always had a great interest in K-Pop,” an SXSW representative said. “There were rumors she was coming to ‘K-Pop Night Out,’ but I didn’t think she’d actually come.”

5. Lorde & Girls’ Generation



A co-CEO of independent record label AOMG, Jay Park is one of the most popular hip-hop artists in South Korea. He first debuted as a member of one of biggest K-Pop groups 2PM before exiting and starting his solo career in Korea’s hip-hop scene.

7. John Cena & BTS

We can’t separate BTS when it comes to K-Pop power in the U.S. The Billboard-winning group has proven to people that they have a massive popularity in the North American music scene, enough to make John Cena a fan of them.

The 40-year-old wrestler/actor admits that he’s officially a member of ARMY, a fandom for BTS. While shyly smiling, John shared in an interview that he loved J-Hope‘s mixtape titled “Hangsang”. He explained, “See, if I were to explain, that would defeat the purpose! Although I will say, ‘Base Line’ is my favorite track on the J-Hope mixtape. I also like ‘Hangsang’.”

“What started as a happy accident has turned into something wonderful. I’ve been introduced to a new piece of culture, which I think is fantastic, because I’m learning through social media,” he added. “It’s a very rare occurrence, so I’m very happy to say… yeah, screw it, I’m in.”

He also couldn’t help fanboy-ing as he posted a caption-less photo of J-Hope on his Instagram account.
