Hilaria Baldwin teaches son Romeo how to say 'vegetables' in Spanish

Hilaria Baldwin references her fake heritage scandal as she posts about son Romeo saying ‘vegetables’ in Spanish… after she once struggled to pronounce ‘cucumber’ on TV

Hilaria Baldwin shared a snap of her and son Romeo on Wednesday, explaining that they had a funny misunderstanding involving the pronunciation of ‘vegetables.’

The yoga instructor, 38, documented the verbal exchange she had with her four-year-old on Instagram, after he asked her to teach him how to pronounce the word, while she attempted to teach him how to say ‘vegetables’ in Spanish instead.

The snap comes over a year after Hilaria apologized for faking her Spanish heritage and was forced to confess she had been born in Boston and went by the name Hillary, after she had spent years claiming Majorca was her birthplace and that she only arrived into the US at the age of 19.

Funny: Hilaria Baldwin shared a snap of her and son Romeo on Wednesday, explaining that that they had a funny misunderstanding after he asked for the pronunciation of ‘vegetables’ and she, instead, tried to teach him how to say it in Spanish

On a text overlay on the photo, Hilaria wrote that after Romeo asked her how to say vegetables, she replied ‘Verduras o vegetales.’

However he respnded, ‘No in English’ which promoted her to reply that he was already saying it in English.

‘But I say: Vegeta-Balls… How do I not say “balls”‘ he apparently asked, to which she responded: ‘Be proud of your own pronunciation… makes you you… speak freely… and you take after your mama and her own code switching talk,’ she joked, adding a laughing emoji.

Hilaria appeared to have moved on from last year’s scandal, where several of her former classmates came forward to confirm that she was raised in Weston, Massachusetts, by American parents without a hint of a foreign accent.

Code switching: The yoga instructor, 38, wrote that after Romeo, four, asked her how to say vegetables, she replied ‘Verduras o vegetales’ adding ‘you take after your mama and her own code switching talk’

The woman who first exposed the fraud, later told The New York Times that it was an ‘open secret’ in Manhattan that Hilaria had faked her heritage, and that she and her friends, ‘bored’ from the pandemic, decided finally to expose the secret.

In the next few days several videos of Hilaria’s past TV appearances resurfaced showing her commitment to a Spanish accent.

In one now infamous Today Show video that surfaced, Hilaria appeared to forget the English word for cucumber.

After her American heritage was exposed, Hilaria apologized and said she ‘should have been more clear’ about her connection to the Spanish culture.

Drama: The snap comes over a year after Hilaria – who’s currently expecting her seventh child with husband Alec Baldwin, 64 – apologized for faking her Spanish heritage and was forced to confess she had been born in Boston and went by the name Hillary; Pictured 2022

Appearing to be in a contemplative mood, Hilaria also took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a black and white photograph of her with husband Alec Baldwin, 64, cuddling in bed, along with a lengthy caption.

‘To enter your world and become your person has been both a joy and an eye opening experience. How many wonderful moments, meeting incredible people, doing amazing experiences, and building a family. I am forever grateful. Every day.’

‘The darker part is seeing behind the curtain at how some of this “business” can function and the blows and sacrifices that someone in the public eye takes for speaking up for what they believe and for helping others,’ she wrote.

‘Enemies of these missions seek to destroy you, in order to delegitimize your voice and purpose. This is not a new tactic…it’s as old as history…yet, how easy it is now more than ever to slander people and cherry pick and piece together strands taken out of context, “opinions”, or complete fabrications. And how some people believe it or stay silent out of fear.’

Sharing: Hilaria also took to Instagram to share a black and white photograph of her with her husband cuddling in bed, along with a lengthy caption of her support for him

Pondering: ‘My empathy for your humanity is endless… unfortunately, having experienced the dehumanization myself, (another old tactic to go after the spouse of your enemy)…leads us to the moments when we think: how much more can one body and one mind take before we crumple beneath the psychological torture?’ she pondered

She went on: ‘Alec, how many times we look at each other and say: deep breath, in this together, keep on for the good of what we believe. Somos un buen equipo. How many times I’ve experienced people stopping you and thanking you for your philanthropy in the arts, your work with children, fighting for our environment, and yes, we all know: our politics.’

‘People see how hard you fight for what you believe is right. And we are grateful. Listen to these voices..turn down the volume on the darkness and negativity. I am the one that sees you in your dark moments…the human moments-away from the movie stardom and public figure that people are so quick to elevate or execute.’

Hilaria wrapped up the caption, writing: ‘I don’t know the ending to any of our stories, but I do know that while we are living, I want you to be told time over time how much we see you and appreciate you. And we know that you are carrying quite a load, using the privileged place of your public voice for good. Not everyone with your privilege chooses this path. And we know it’s hard. So many love you, AB, we are here for you to lean on and feel safe.’

The pair are parents to sons Eduardo, 20 months, Romeo, three, Leonardo, five, and Rafael, six, and daughters Carmen, eight, and Maria Lucia, 15 months, and are currently awaiting the imminent birth of their seventh child.
