Jessamy Stoddart has given birth to her first child.

The Hollyoaks actress, 29, welcomed a baby daughter with her husband Ryan O'Gorman on 4 January, and took to Instagram to reveal the happy news along with an adorable snap of their newborn asleep.

Jessamy, who plays Liberty Savage in the hit show, also shared the sweet name she and Ryan have chosen for their little girl.

She wrote: "Our little girl Joni Drew O’Gorman 04/01/2023 8lb4. After every storm comes a rainbow and this rainbow came on the anniversary of of us first finding out we were pregnant."

"We are besotted. @lwhhomebirthteam & @liverpoolwomens I owe you the world xxx," the star added.

The new parents were inundated with congratulatory messages and well wishes on social media, with many of Jessamy's Hollyoaks co-star leaving sweet comments under her post.

Jorgie Porter wrote: "Yay," with red heart emojis, while Stephanie Waring added: "Congratulations to you both what a perfect beautiful gift! Welcome to the world Joni," with three pink heart emojis.

Sarah Jayne Dunn said: "Oh my congratulations you guys, she is just perfect".

Ashling O'Shea commented: "Congratulations Jessamy! She's precious hope you're doing well xxx".

Jessamy announced she was pregnant in October 2022 and shared a sweet photo of her cradling her growing baby bump along with a wooden plaque with 'Our little rainbow' engraved on it.

Captioning the post, the excited actress wrote: "Baby O’G, you are so loved already. Our little rainbow, due December 2022," followed by a rainbow emoji and a stars emoji.

"Getting to this point has been a journey for us – the road to parenthood often is, so to anyone reading this heavy hearted on their own baby journey, I see you and I feel you," alongside a red heart emoji.

Jessamy and Ryan's pregnancy announcement came just under a year after they tied the knot in a stunning ceremony in November 2021.

The couple wed at country house Iscoyd Park which sits on the borders between North Wales, Cheshire and Shropshire on 28 November, surrounded by their loved ones.

For the nuptials, the bride wore a high neck white gown with billowing semi-sheer long sleeves and a long veil over her hair, which hung down loosely as she walked down the aisle holding a white bouquet of roses to match.
