David and Victoria Beckham plan to give up their dream Cotswolds home

David and Victoria Beckham plan to move away from the great Tew hullabaloo and give up their dream Cotswolds home after being put off by noise from nearby celebrity haunt

  • The pair usually retreated to the barn from their £25 million London townhouse
  • But visitors to the Soho Farmhouse venue have to drive past the couple’s abode
  • The number of cars going to the nearby venue is said top have at least doubled

David and Victoria Beckham are to give up their dream Cotswolds home – after being put off by traffic noise from the nearby celebrity haunt, Soho Farmhouse, it has been claimed.

The pair, who retreat to the converted barn at weekends from their £25 million West London mansion, are looking for another property or land near the quaint village of Great Tew following the expansion of the private members’ club.

Visitors to the venue, which has been used by the likes of Meghan Markle, Tom Cruise and James Corden for parties, have to drive past the Beckhams’ property to get there.

Soho Farmhouse was already open when the Beckhams bought their retreat in 2017, but the number of cars going to it is said to have at least doubled in the past two years.

A source close to the couple told The Mail on Sunday: ‘David and Victoria adore their barn and they absolutely love Great Tew, but the traffic and noise that comes from it has made it very difficult to live there now.

‘They love going to the Cotswolds and they also enjoy spending time at Soho Farmhouse, but they think it’s time to find another property to spend their weekends in, just not too far away. It is such a shame – so much love has gone into that house and they got it just how they wanted it. It is their sanctuary.’

It is not known whether the couple will sell their Grade II listed farmhouse, which they bought for £6 million, or rent it out.

After the Beckhams’ improvements, the property boasts a sauna, plunge pool, football pitch, gym, swimming pool and £50,000 safari tent in the grounds for entertaining, and is now thought to be worth about £12 million.

Amanda Holden also owns a property in Great Tew.
