Danny Miller desperately clutches onto his precious stars while battling powerful wind, jet streams and huge balls in the iconic cyclone trial set to air on Saturday night’s I’m A Celebrity. 

In scenes being shown this evening, the Emmerdale star, 30, is joined by the other remaining campmates David Ginola, Frankie Bridge and Simon Gregson in Wales to take on the epic challenge.

New images show the four stars crawling up a huge structure as the various items are launched at them while they try to carry their stars to the top of the course to win meals for camp.

The celebrities are dressed in superhero castle outfits, each with a different colour and don goggles to protect them from the wind, rain and flying objects. 

One shot shows Danny really struggling and lying on top his star to protect it from being blown away as the relentless task continues.

The cyclone challenge has become a fan favourite with I’m A Celebrity viewers over the years, however it was reported earlier this week that trial wasn’t going to go ahead due to the bad weather and more trouble from Storm Barra.

Storm Arwen unleashed chaos and forced the show off-air earlier in the series but it was claimed could have been more disruption to come.   

A source told The Sun: ‘Producers are panicking a bit. It’s the centrepiece of the whole series, and what many of the celebrities say is the point in the show they want to get to.

‘Production staff are frantically checking the weather ahead off filming it later this week. They’ve got ten different weather apps on the go telling them minute-by-minute updates.

‘The Cyclone is hard work anyway, let alone if you’re falling on frozen water. They fear if it does go ahead it might be the first time since its inclusion in the show that no one gets to the end of it.’

MailOnline contacted ITV reps for comment at the time. 

It comes after the ITV show was forced off-air in late November after the extreme weather in Wales caused technical damage on set and meant the celebrities had to be removed from their camp and returned to quarantine.

It comes after Adam Woodyatt and Matty Lee became the sixth and seventh celebrities to leave I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! on Friday night.

The EastEnders star, 53, and the Olympian, 23, were left shocked as Any and Dec revealed they’d both be leaving the Welsh castle in an unexpected double elimination.   

Actor Adam finished up in sixth place, while Matty ended his stint on the show in seventh position.

During their joined chat with the host, Adam, who is currently estranged from wife Beverly Sharp, chocked back tears when asked if being the castle helped him forget about life on the outside.

Strong: David bravely took on the challenge and held onto four stars at once

He emotionally told Ant and Dec: ‘I’ve had a fantastic time. It was going to be a new start. There’s a lot of stuff still going on.

Adam added: ‘Mentally I had sorted myself out, i sorted my head out, which is why I loved it so much. 

‘I’ve had so much fun, I’ve had such a laugh. Even when you sent me back down to The Clink I had a lovely evening with Arlene.’

He was also asked whether he found it difficult to be just Adam after so many years of playing Ian, with the actor agreeing that it was as he didn’t have a script.

Having fun: The famous aqua challenge sees the four finalists dress as superheroes and try to make their way up a giant water slide whilst being hosed down and pelted with obstacles

Oh no: The first early effects of Storm Barra have been felt across the UK and Ireland, with gusty winds, heavy rainfall and days-long power outages

He said: ‘I’ve spent 36 years with a script. I’m not like Simon [Gregson] – he’s naturally funny. I need somebody to play off, which was Simon.’

Meanwhile, he said of his time in the castle: ‘There’s little tiny niggles and they easily become big niggles. David said very eloquently, we need to keep the dressing room together, we need to keep as one. As soon as there was any little arguments, they were sorted out.’ 

The thespian went on to add: ‘I wanted to do the eating trial. I kept putting my snood in but it never came out’, leading Ant to joke: ‘Get him back, get him back in now.’

Elsewhere, Matty – who won gold with Tom Daley at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics – revealed that he wanted viewers to see a different side to him than the serious persona he has on the diving board.

Problematic: There are further weather warnings in place across Northern Ireland and the south-west of England into Wednesday

He explained: ‘The public only see a very serious athlete on the board, I have to be in the game. But I know there’s a funny side to me – there’s a funny side to everyone. 

‘And I thought going in there would show everyone exactly who I am, and I hope I’ve done that.’ 

The sportsman also told how the show lived up to his expectations after it had been a dream of his to appear, noting how he’d ticked off boxes in regards to the eating challenges and made ‘the most amazing friends’.

The interview concluded with Adam stating he wanted David to win, while Matty preferred Frankie to be crowned Queen of the Castle.
