Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball with Barclaycard kicked off in style on Saturday as a host of the biggest names in music gathered at London’s O2 Arena to put on a show to remember.

And leading the way were Jesy Nelson and Becky Hill, who caught the eye in show stopping ensembles as they graced the red carpet on day one of the two-day musical extravaganza.

Jesy stood out from the crowd in an orange fur jacket, which she paired with an ab flashing brown leather co-ord.

She styled her dark caramel locks in a sleek straight style while wearing a glamorous layer of make up consisting of a smokey eye and neutral lip colour. 

Jesy elevated her height with neon orange slip on heels for the glamorous affair.  

Becky, 27, pulled out all the stops as she slipped into a sparkling orange co-ord in which she which she flashed a glimpse of her toned tummy. 

The singer dazzled in her structured top which featured bold shoulders and strap detail which emphasised her slender waist.

The Lose Control hitmaker added embellished drop earrings to her look, while her blonde locks were swept into an elaborate style ready for her big performance.

Olly Alexander, 31, meanwhile, wowed in a multi-coloured leather jacket which popped against the rest of his black outfit.

The Desire singer accessorised with black and white shoes and a chunky silver bracelet.

While at the event, Olly hinted he wants to see a second series of his highly successful TV show, It’s A Sin. 

Speaking exclusively to MailOnline at the event, he said: ‘I mean I would love to see a second series and see what happens to Gill, Ash and Roscoe.’ 

However, he also pointed out that the show creator, Russell T Davies, will likely be busy with other work commitments. 

Olly added: ‘I would love that but I think Russell’s gonna be really busy with Doctor Who.’

Speaking on Doctor Who, he ramped up already intense speculation that he could be appearing in the latest series, despite ruling himself out of the top role recently.

‘Yeah maybe I would appear as a companion on Doctor Who,’ he suggested.

The duo were in good company on the night as they were joined by singer Tom Grennan, who was drafted in at the last minute to replace Coldplay, who were forced to pull out after members of their team tested positive for Covid-19. 

The music star, 26, appeared excited for his big gig, dressing up in a silk champagne shirt and black trousers.

Speaking to MailOnline ahead of his performance, Tom shared his joy at joining the line-up, explaining: ‘I’m excited man, I’m over the moon to be here. 

‘I got the call late last night. I watched a film and it drifted me off nicely to sleep. I woke up early excited and ready to do a show.’

He continued: ‘I turn nerves into excitement. My manager has been my biggest mentor in the industry.’

On who he’s love to work with in the future, the Little Bit Of Love singer said: ‘I’d love to collaborate with Dua Lipa but I’ve never spoken to her about it. Kendrick Lamar too, these are big names man so who knows so right now, I’m just concentrating on tonight!’

Speaking to MailOnline from the red carpet, the pair joked around about their working relationship.    

Sian said: ‘Roman comes in at one minute to six every morning. We get a text saying we’re in the lift and sometimes we think, “No you’re not, you’re still on the roundabout. He’s still on his way in.”‘ 

He quipped: ‘Listen, you can’t do that show and it not happen. All that it is, if you are late you’ve got to shoutout the cab driver who didn’t pick you up and bring you here. It’s the worst feeling in the world.’ 

Sian said of who would be her dream person to interview: ‘I want to meet Dwayne the rock Johnson. I want a bear hug from him, I wanna see how tall he is, what he smells like.’ 

Kooky: Olly later had a change of clothes as he posed inside the venue as he posed in a mesh top, bejewelled trousers and a leather jacket

Fun: Olly, Sian, Roman Kemp and Sonny Jay were in good spirits as they chatted in the on air studio 

Grace Chatto looked sensational as she walked down the red carpet in a plunging white suit which boasted pink flowers on the shoulders. 

She also posed with her band mates from Clean Bandit. 

Elsewhere, Wes Nelson spoke to MailOnline about his MOBO nomination for best newcomer on the red carpet.

He said: ‘That’s mad innit, it’s nuts. First year, it’s just been a whole rollercoaster, embracing the madness and staying grounded.’ 

 He also spoke on his time on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins: ‘There were numerous times on celebrity SAS when i nearly died, on time I was on a road and I jumped off cos I saw a car coming after me. But I didn’t really know where I was jumping.

‘I thought it was just a bush or something cos it was pitch black but it was actually a 200 foot hill that I was just bouncing down for ages. There were moments all the times where you think yeah I didn’t die. There were so many you just forget them. 

‘Absolutely it was the best thing I ever did. You never know your limits until you do it.’ 

It comes as Lil Nas X and Coldplay have been forced to pull out of Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball this weekend after members of their teams contracted coronavirus.

Organisers have made changes to the schedule, adding rapper ArrDee, 19, and singer Tom to the line-up, and extending Justin Bieber and Ed Sheeran’s sets.

Capital FM bosses said in a statement: ‘Sadly we have had to announce that Coldplay and Lil Nas X have had to pull out of performing at this weekend’s Jingle Bell Ball with Barclaycard.

‘Both acts have had members of their teams test positive for Covid-19 and therefore are not able to perform.

‘We’d like to wish the very best and a speedy recovery to Coldplay, Lil Nas X and their teams.

‘Of course, everyone at Capital is absolutely gutted, but the show must go on…

Apology: Capital FM bosses announced the news in a statement, saying rapper ArrDee, 19, and singer Tom Grennan, 26, had been added to the line-up

‘ArrDee and Tom Grennan will be joining the line-up. ArrDee will be taking to the Jingle Bell Ball stage on both Saturday and Sunday night, while Tom Grennan will be performing on Saturday night.

‘We’d also like to confirm at this time, Justin Bieber and Ed Sheeran will be playing extended sets on their respective nights.

‘The UK’s biggest Christmas party goes on. We look forward to seeing you this weekend!’  

Speaking out: Coldplay took to their Twitter account to apologise to fans after a member of their touring team contracted Covid

Well wishes: Lil Nas X said he didn’t want to be ‘irresponsible’ and perform, and wished his fans well in a video message on Capital FM’s Twitter page

Coldplay said in a statement: ‘We regret to say that, due to positive COVID-19 cases in the band’s touring party, we’re no longer able to perform at Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball tonight in London or on The Voice of Germany on Sunday.

‘We send out love to the individuals affected and wish them a swift recovery.

‘We’re so sorry to cancel at the last minute and apologise to everyone concerned.

‘Thank you, as always, for your support.’

In a video on Capital FM’s Twitter page, Lil Nas X said: ‘Hey guys, sorry I couldn’t make it, a few of the members of my team got Covid and we just don’t want to be irresponsible and risk it.

‘Hope you guys have an amazing time. I love you and I’ll see you soon.’ 

Other acts set to perform include Mabel, Joel, Anne-Marie, KSI, JLS, Griff and Jesy Nelson.
