At tonight's American Music Awards ceremony, Jennifer Lopez arrived at the event wearing a super-sexy, slit-up-to-there, rhinestone-encrusted Balmain ensemble. And while the showstopping outfit garnered its fair share of attention, Lopez's short bob, which was styled to look wet and wavy, managed to capture the spotlight, too.
Though Lopez is no stranger to switching up her hair (bangs, space buns, and even a chain ponytail have been in her rotation in the last few months), the wet look isn't one of her usual red-carpet go-tos. Generally, Lopez opts for glam updos and plenty of volume courtesy of her stylist Chris Appleton, who was also behind this slick style. Tonight's very unique AMAs ceremony (due to COVID-19) and the fact that 2020 is anything but business as usual may have called for a shift in J.Lo's M.O.
Just a few days ago, Lopez wore a high, bouncy ponytail as she accepted the People's Icon Award at this year's People's Choice Awards. And just a few weeks ago, she won Halloween when she dressed up as "Like a Virgin"-era Madonna — complete with her signature '80s perm.
Lopez is set to perform tonight alongside Maluma. Their steamy duets, "Pa' Ti" and "Lonely," are sure to warrant an outfit change, so a new 'do isn't completely out of the question for Lopez tonight.
