Kathy Griffin warns Britney Spears is ‘TOO FREE’ amid knife post drama – after the comic stripped down to her underwear to make fun of the troubled pop star
Kathy Griffin recently opined that Britney Spears is now ‘too free’ amid her dancing with knives controversy.
The comedian, 62, made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Tuesday and addressed supporters of the pop star, 41, following the concerned reaction to her viral knife video.
She said that the Gimme More hitmaker’s supporters ‘didn’t have a plan’ when they rallied for the end of her conservatorship.
‘I fear the #FreeBritney people, I do, but sometimes, a person can be too free,’ Griffin said as the talk show host, 55, chuckled.
Addressing Spears’ fans, she continued: ‘All I’m saying is, I love you gays and I love you #FreeBritney people, but you didn’t have a plan.’

And during the interview, Kimmel played a video from Griffin’s Instagram account in which she made fun of the dancing with knives clips that Spears shared last month.
The day before, Griffin stripped down to her underwear and was seen flailing around a kitchen knife and a spatula to satirize the troubled pop star.
She was seen wearing a magenta, tie-dyed bra and salmon-colored panties as well as black rain boots in her kitchen.
Over the clip, she clarified in a caption that her knife and spatula were not props, in another attempt to make fun of Spears’ clips asserting she was not dancing with real knives.
In promotion of her upcoming project, Griffin said she would be ‘making fun of everyone and everything, including myself’ at her comedy show in Las Vegas.
After wrapping her Laugh Your Head Off world tour, Griffin will now be returning to The Mirage Theatre for the first time in six years on October 6.
In late September, Spears sparked concern after she shared a video of herself doing a dizzying dance with knives — which even prompted a visit from the local police for a welfare check.
She was even seen in a since-deleted clip with obvious injuries as eagle-eyed fans spotted a cut on her leg and a bandage on her arm.

Concerned fans: Following her first post, the pop star had also posted follow-up videos with captions clarifying that she was dancing with fake knives as she was inspired by Shakira’s dance at the MTV Video Music Awards. Despite what she said, many of her followers still expressed concern and insisted they heard the ‘clanging’ of the knives

In her first of many videos dancing with knives, her three puppies could be seen at her feet and backing away from her quick and sharp movements.
Griffin also poked fun at this during her interview with Kimmel as she informed his show’s viewers that her dogs were not harmed in the making of her video.
Spears’ dogs did not appear to be harmed in her dancing clip either.
