Katie Price quizzed by police after driving without a licence

Katie Price has been quizzed by police after admitting that she drove without a licence.

The Loose Women star confessed that she’d got behind the wheel despite being banned from the road, and said that she’d reported herself to the police.

Officers have questioned the 40-year-old over the offence, and she will have to return to the police station for another interview soon.

A spokesman for Sussex Police told Mirror Online: "A woman, who was reported for driving while disqualified, has spoken to police and will attend a police station for interview on an arranged date."

It comes after Katie’s 4×4 was pictured being taken away from her Sussex home by a recovery truck on Monday afternoon.

Last week, Katie posted a statement on Instagram, telling fans that she drove son Harvey, 16, to the hospital for an appointment, only to later release that she was still banned from the roads until August 8.

She said she’d been through such an "emotional rollercoaster" over the last six months that her head had been "all over the place", claiming it was a genuine mistake.

The mum-of-five, who is dating Kris Boyson, claimed she called the police to report herself the second she realised her error, saying she was looking forward to being her "old independent self".

Her fans heaped praise on her for handing herself in, but that may not have been the full story.

According to The Sun on Sunday , she actually had children Jett and Bunny in her vehicle for the 25-mile drive from Gatwick Airport.

Once rumbled, she then admitted her transgression to police.

Katie’s breach of the law carries a maximum penalty of six months in jail and an unlimited fine.

Katie had been slapped with a six-month ban on February 9 for speeding, keeping her off the road until August 8.

Police found her driving at 60mph near her West Sussex home – 10mph above the legal limit.

She was also given six points on her driver’s licence.
