Leicester vs Liverpool team news and line-ups confirmed

Jordan Henderson starts for Liverpool against Leicester.

The Reds skipper hasn’t started a game so far this season after he returned late in the summer after the World Cup.

But Henderson is brought in at the King Power for Naby Keita in the only change for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Keita drops to the bench where once again there is no place for summer signing Fabinho – who is yet to make his debut following his arrival from Monaco.

On Henderson’s recall, Klopp said: "I thought it made sense for the game today. We have to [be], if you want, rock solid, in all departments because Leicester is a good football-playing side, so we need to defend very well, to be really compact and all different things so it helps when the boys are used to this.

"This midfield played pretty much the last third of the last season unchanged, so that’s the reason. On the other hand, it’s about being fresh and all that stuff.”

Leicester meanwhile remain without striker Jamie Vardy, who is suspended.

Claude Puel has opted to play with no recognised striker for the encounter at the King Power.

Rachid Ghezzal, who scored a stunning goal against Fleetwood in midweek, is handed a start.

But it is Klopp’s decision to drop Keita that has caused surprise among Liverpool fans.
