Marie Osmond lost 50lbs when she started competing on Dancing With The Stars in 2007.

On Tuesday the star – who left The Talk in September – revealed she is still in great shape after lockdown as she posed in her skinny jeans for a rare portrait shared on her Instagram account.

Slim! Marie Osmond lost 50lbs when she started competing on Dancing With The Stars in 2007. On Tuesday the star – who left The Talk in September – revealed she is still in great shape after lockdown as she posed in her skinny jeans

Marie said in her caption that she was ready for the hot months. ‘I love this time of year!’ the sister of crooner Donny Osmond told her Instagram followers.

‘I remember years ago dreading taking walks or hikes because I was carrying around so much extra weight,’ added the star who has not added weight since she slimmed down in 2007.

‘I lost 50 lbs and have the energy to get outside and enjoy the sunshine and fresh air!’ said the former Las Vegas performer whose last album was 2016’s Music Is Medicine.

She finished by telling fans via her hashtags to ‘get moving in the fresh air in the sunshine for weight loss.’

A tiny waistline: ‘I love this time of year!’ the sister of Donnie Osmond told her Instagram followers. ‘I remember years ago dreading taking walks or hikes because I was carrying around so much extra weight,’ added the star

Osmond said she lost the weight with the help of NutriSystem. She has been an ambassador for the brand for over a decade.

In January Marie told DailyMail.com she slipped up her diet in the early days of COVID-19. ‘Yes I got the COVID 5 where I gained five pounds, but I got it off in two weeks,’ said the 5ft5in Donny & Marie star. ‘I called up NutriSystem and talked to my person there and she coached me, which is so helpful.’

Turns out she just needed to remember her portion control. ‘I had to just be reminded to keep the meals small, and I was fine with it, it was just a mini wakeup call. But this happens, no one should take a weight gain very seriously, it happens to all of us.’

The star relies on her meal system – she he does not eat three big meals a day but rather six smaller ones.

‘Everyone asks me if I go hungry because I don’t dig into a big meal, but rather have six small ones, and the answer is no, I am never hungry,’ the singer said.

Better in 2021 than in 2007: The star is thin on the left at 120lbs, and a little more curvy in 2007 when she was on Dancing With The Stars and weighed 170lbs

‘If anything I feel like I am eating too much. I am always satisfied,’ she added.

‘I realized that I had slowed down my metabolism by not eating and then overloaded my body. My metabolism was dead. So it took a while to get used to eating six times a day but when I did I lost weight because I was keeping my metabolism revved up.’

The six meals a day she eats include breakfast, a snack, lunch, a snack, dinner, then a snack.

When she started dieting she felt like she could lose 10lbs in one month and she did.

She did well though: Marie was a hit on the show as she danced with Jonathan Roberts; they placed third even though she fainted on the live show

‘I went in slowly,’ Marie tells DailyMail.com.

‘I thought I would turn out to be like my mom, but it was not true. When you treat your body healthy, your body treats you back,’ she said.

And she started exercising regularly, which she has kept up.

‘I love to take walks, I grab my audio books and listen to them when I am outside, it’s relaxing, it doesn’t even feel like a workout,’ added Marie.

Osmond left The Talk in September and said at the time, ‘One of the highlights of my year at #TheTalk was working with my dear friend John Redmann (former EP and showrunner) and I’m excited to continue our working relationship on several projects we are developing.’

She then went on to say: ‘Also, my husband and I just dropped our last two kids off at college, we looked at each other, laughed and remembered we hadn’t been this alone together since 1982!!

A bit fuller: The singer is seen in 2006 at the TV Land Awards where she hid her curves in a black suit. But by 2013 she was looking incredible in a mini dress

‘So, at this stage of my life, I’m looking forward to spending more time with him and visiting all the kids/grandkids.’

She is not ready to talk about her departure. But the star did say she has plenty of new projects lined up.

Marie is co-producing a film, and she will start shooting a new movie this year. She said that she loves acting and gives it her best shot.

‘Am I great? No. But you have to be willing to go for it,’ said the siren.

A family event: She was seen with her brother Donnie on The Brady Bunch Variety Hour in 1976

She has made a happy return to TV movies with 2019’s The Road Home For Christmas and 2020’s The Christmas Edition.

‘I loved making those films, they were great experiences, and I am truly happy people want to see me act,’ she noted.

As far as keeping her spirits up during lockdown she said, ‘2020 was a unique year, but I am always trying to find the lemonade when I get lemons.

‘It’s God’s way of showing you what’s really important,’ added the Dancing With The Stars veteran.

And the looker shared that she likes to stay in the entertainment business because it allows her to be creative. ‘People ask me if I am going to stop, but I am not going to stop because of fear,’ she stated. ‘I am going to try new things even if they scare me a little.’

The future also holds new music. ‘I have wanted to do this my whole life, symphonic touring,’ she said. ‘I am ready to take over.’ The event is being called An Evening With Marie Osmond With A Symphonic Orchestra.

She was at the table: Osmond, far right, left The Talk in September; seen with L-R, Sheryl Underwood, Carrie Ann Inaba, Sharon Osbourne and Eve Cooper

She then added, ‘It’s good to challenge yourself. I like to be surrounded with people who motivate me and bring joy.’ Her last album was Music Is Medicine from 2016.

Marie got her start in the 1970s with the music group The Osmonds. She then went solo with the singe Paper Roses and had more success with This is The Way That I Feel.

In the 1980s Marie made a comeback in country music as a solo artist by signing a joint deal with Capitol Records and Curb Records.

The star has had success in Las Vegas and on tour, but it wasn’t until 2007’s Dancing With The Stars appearance that she reached a new fan base that helped her sell more books and land a deal with Nutrisystem. She then shed 50lbs.

In 2011 she remarried her first husband Stephen Craig. ‘We hadn’t seen each other for 25 years. One of my favorite things is to walk and talk with him,’ she confided.

And together they relish their family life. ‘I have eight beautiful children, three beautiful grandchildren, and I have a husband,’ she has said in the past. ‘I don’t even mind aging. We’re having a ball!’
