‘She loves a Chinese takeaway and a curry’: Mark Wright says he and wife Michelle Keegan workout to counter their love of junk food

Mark Wright has told how his wife Michelle Keegan manages to keep her jaw-dropping figure despite tucking into takeaways and currys.

The actress, 35, keeps to a strict gym routine to keep herself in shape but always allows herself cheat meals on the weekends.

Speaking to The Sun, Mark, 35, said: ‘She loves a Chinese takeaway and a curry. We both have a very balanced life and we both work hard in the gym and stay healthy.

‘I try to be as healthy as I can and live a balanced life.

‘But at the weekend if you want to have a takeaway or eat some junk food do it because you need that balance in your life.’

Michelle previously told how she only works out for 45 minites a day and never has any guilt about indulging in junk food.

Speaking on the Off The Menu podcast, she said: ‘I never feel guilty when I eat cheat because if I’ve been strict all week, I feel like I deserve it.

‘I only set myself a target to spend 45 minutes in the gym and then I’m done.’

‘I’m quite bad at snacking at night, so I am quite full from the night before, if I’m being honest.’

Mark ran the London Marathon on Sunday in a time of 3 hours and 41 minutes and he and Michelle co-own a fitness brand together.

Mark is set to return to TV screens as he landed a presenting gig last Thursday, for a new Channel 5 series.  

The former reality star jetted off to Argentina last month along with several famous faces to film the show which is similar to the US series The Challenge. 

It will be a return to TV for the radio DJ, who rose to fame on The Only Way Is Essex before fronting Extra TV in the US.

A source revealed to The Sun: ‘Mark really impressed the producers on The Challenge and they signed him up immediately. It is a big deal as it is the first time the show is being made with UK stars. 

‘Mark filmed the series at the end of last month in Argentina and he’ll be seen on screen as the celebrities take on a series of tough challenges.

‘It is a role that was made for Mark because he loves fitness and is competitive. He got really stuck in during filming and if a second series is commissioned, the production wants Mark on board again.’

It was revealed that three former Love Island stars, Marcel Somerville, Arabella Chi and Kaz Kamwi, signed up to the new series last month and Geordie Shore’s Nathan Henry will also make an appearance.
