‘He is still mad at me!’: Nicola Peltz reveals husband Brooklyn Beckham BEGGED to be in her film but she had to CUT his line due to his bad accent

  • Nicola stars in, wrote and co-directed upcoming indie movie Lola James
  • She says her husband Brooklyn asked her if he could have a part in the film
  • Nicola revealed that she gave him a line but she was forced to cut it out
  • The actress said she couldn’t stop laughing at his obvious British accent

He was once an aspiring photographer before trying his hand at being a chef.

But one place you’re unlikely to see Brooklyn Peltz Beckham is starring in a film, as his wife Nicola reveals she was forced to cut him out of her upcoming movie.

The Bates Motel actress, who is the writer and director of Lola James, told how her husband, 23, begged her for a small part in the independent drama.

However despite trying to disguise his very British accent, Nicola, 27, revealed she had to cut the scene because she couldn’t stop laughing at his voice.

Speaking to The Sunday Times magazine, Style, Nicola revealed: ‘I directed a film last year that I wrote when I was 23 [Lola James]. And Brooklyn is still mad at me, but he was like, “Can I be in your movie?’ And I was like Oh My Gosh, I would be honoured, but we have to disguise you.”

‘Obviously he’s covered in tattoos and he’s British. So he did a few parts in the background, which if you pay attention, you can find me, but in one scene he’s like ‘Can I put the mike on, I wanna say a line?”

After agreeing he could say whatever he wanted, the scene didn’t go to plan, as Nicola revealed: ‘And I started laughing so hard. He had the most British accent ever. I ended up cutting him out! He sat there, in the editing room, he was like “Did you really just cut me out while I’m sitting here?” I was like, yes I love you so much!’

Despite not making the cut for a speaking part, Nicola confirmed that Brooklyn will appear in her film as an extra during a scene.

Upcoming movie Lola James is set in 2002 and follows the story of 19-year-old Lola who tries to save enough money to get her brother Arlo out of their ‘toxic’ home.

However, Lola is also fighting a drug addiction and things go from bad to worse when a traumatic event sends their life into chaos.

Sideways Oscar nominee Virginia Madsen will join her on screen as she plays a mother figure called Mona who also suffers with a dark past.

Elsewhere during the interview, Nicola once again touched on her rumoured ‘feud’ with her mother in law, Victoria Beckham.

Nicola dismissed any speculation of a ‘cold war’ between the families and insisted she doesn’t know where the rumours began.

She, as she has done previously, speculated that it may be because she didn’t wear a dress designed by Victoria on her wedding day.

But Nicola explaiend that she was devastated not to wear it, but it was simply due to busy schedules while filming Lola James and VB’s atelier couldn’t get it done in time.

This is not the first time Nicola has dismissed the feud narrative and said that she believes it all started when she opted for Valentino couture instead of Victoria’s design.

She told Variety: ‘I was going to and I really wanted to, and then a few months down the line, she realized that her atelier couldn’t do it, so then I had to pick another dress.

‘She didn’t say you can’t wear it; I didn’t say I didn’t want to wear it. That’s where it started.’

Brooklyn, in a rather muted defence, added: ‘Everyone gets along, which is good.’

However, Victoria did manage to dress herself and other loved ones in designs from her eponymous fashion label -including BFF Eva Longoria, mother Jackie Adams and son Romeo’s then-girlfriend Mia Regan.

Elsewhere in the interview, Nicola gushed over her ‘legend’ father-in-law David Beckham, and described 11-year-old Harper as the ‘coolest little sister’.

She said Brooklyn is keen to have children straight away, but she wants to wait a few years, and that they both want a large brood.

Nicola seemingly quashed rumours of a feud between herself and her famous mother-in-law by attending the designer’s show last month.

Denial: But she denied that the frosty tensions were a ‘feud’ and explained that the Victoria ‘s atelier simply hadn’t had time to make the dress

When Nicola and Brooklyn attended Victoria’s Paris Fashion Week show on Friday September 30 – the invite was seen as an ‘olive branch.’

They arrived half an hour early to show their support, with ‘lots of hugs’ going on when they were all reunited for the first time since this summer, said a source in the room.

And video footage taken outside the event showed Victoria laughing with her son Brooklyn, while Nicola socialised with Cruz’s girlfriend Tana Holding and Harper Seven.

It’s all good: It seemed things were back to normal when Nicola and Brooklyn attended VBs Paris Fashion Week show on Friday September 30 – the invite was seen as an ‘olive branch’

It comes after months of alleged frosty tension between the Peltzs and the Beckhams following reports that claimed Nicola and Victoria, 48, ‘can’t stand each other and don’t talk.’

The Beckhams refused to pay for Brooklyn’s US green card, a source claimed at the time and trouble had reportedly been brewing between their two houses.

Peltz, the daughter of New York billionaire Nelson Peltz, is believed to now live in Miami with her husband but fans have noticed that the couple have seemingly drifted from Posh and Becks since the wedding.

Amid reports of Nicola and Victoria’s epic fall-out, fans also questioned Victoria’s rather emotionless celebratory Instagram post following her son’s wedding – as she just wrote: ‘Congratulations Mr and Mrs Beckham. Welcome to the family x.’

Broody: She said Brooklyn is keen to have children straight away, but she wants to wait a few years, and that they both want a large brood

Many were quick to notice Victoria didn’t use Brooklyn and Nicola’s official new joint surname – Peltz-Beckham – causing further speculation that the post was in fact veiling their growing tensions.

Other clues hinting towards the cold war between the Beckham women included when Nicola failed to post an image with Victoria at the glamorous reception – despite her caption being ‘family is everything to me.’

Since then, Nicola and Victoria have scarcely liked each other’s pictures on social media, despite the fact that they used to always show support for one another online.

Rumors were also intensified when fans noticed that Brooklyn was missing from his family vacation last week as Victoria and Beckham were seen vacationing on a yacht in Palm Beach, Florida.

Posh last liked one of Nicola’s posts on May 26 – and she didn’t like any of the images that Peltz-Beckham shared from her honeymoon with Brooklyn.

Nicola meanwhile hadn’t liked Posh posts about her 29th Vogue magazine cover, her wedding anniversary with David, or even on Harper’s 11th birthday. She also didn’t like a post wishing David a happy Father’s Day – despite the fact that the post featured her husband Brooklyn.

And the rift between mother and daughter-in-law has also allegedly rocked Brooklyn’s relationship with his parents, with one source telling Page Six: ‘They haven’t spoken to him much in the last few months.’

The Beckhams were apparently not happy after Nicola’s glitzy front cover close-up on British socialite magazine Tatler came out – published with the in-your-face headline ‘The new Mrs Beckham.’

It is a title Victoria has, of course, worn with pride since she wed footballer Becks in July 1999.

Brooklyn posted the stunning front cover of his adoring wife, with the caption: ‘Wow. I am so proud of you baby. You look absolutely gorgeous and I am so in love with you. Congratulations babe.’

The Instagram post was not liked by his mother, Victoria.

Opening up in the Tatler interview, fans believed that Nicola exposed sly digs at how David and Victoria had previously treated her husband Brooklyn, 23.

She told the magazine: ‘Brooklyn felt a lot of pressure to please people with his career and he didn’t love it.’

And Nicola also said that Brooklyn often turns to her 80-year-old father, Nelson Peltz, for business advice – rather than to his singer, fashion designer, multi-million pound business owner mother, or his legendary former footballer father.

She said: ‘Brooklyn is getting into very exciting things with his shows and also business things and it’s really sweet. I watch him call my dad and say, ‘What do you think about this?’ I love watching him learn from my dad.’

The icy online relationship between Nicola and Victoria is in marked contrast to the once-loving Instagram connection that used to exist between them.

Back in 2021, Nicola gushed that Victoria was her ‘role model’ and said ‘I love you so so much’ in a series of pictures she posted for Posh’s birthday.

And Victoria’s Instagram used to feature loving posts about 27-year-old Nicola, including the adorable caption when Brooklyn got down on one knee: ‘The MOST exciting news!!

‘We could not be happier that Brooklyn and Nicola are getting married! Wishing you so much love and a lifetime of happiness. We all love you both so much.’

A different insider, though, said talk of a schism is ‘silly,’ and that David and Victoria are due to meet up with the newlyweds in America soon – pointing out that they all recently went out for dinner in Venice.
