Out of this world! Scarlett Johansson turns heads in pale pink dress as she joins Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Rita Wilson and Brie Larson at the premiere of Asteroid City in Cannes

The French Riviera once again provided the breathtaking backdrop as the great and good of film, TV and fashion converged for another screening on Tuesday evening, this time the premiere of Wes Anderson’s forthcoming dramedy Asteroid City. 

The futuristic caper is playing in competition for the coveted Palm d’Or at this year’s ceremony, and once again an array of A-list talent was on had to ensure it was given a grand reception on the resort town’s iconic Croisette. 

Leading the way ahead of Tuesday’s screening were stars Scarlett Johannson, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Rita Wilson and Brie Larson. 

Scarlett, who stars in the sci-fi flick, looked incredible as she walked the red carpet alongside her husband, Saturday Night Live star Colin Jost.

The Black Widow actress, 38, donned a pale pink dress for the event which she wore with a plunging white top and silver earrings.

Rosie commanded attention in a sweeping white gown with a thigh-high split as she crossed the red carpet.

The off-the-shoulder dress proved to be a demure departure from the revealing black ensemble she chose for Monday’s appearance at the launch of foreign language film Club Zero, but it was no less engaging as she greeted onlookers at the annual event. 

The model and actress added to her look with a pair of conventional strappy heels, while generously applied blood red lipstick gave an otherwise understated colour scheme a touch of vibrancy. 

Rita Wilson cut a glamorous figure in a black gown as she attended the screening alongside her husband Tom Hanks, who stars in the film. 

Rita’s outfit featured a sequinned detail while the actress also wore a matching cape with structured shoulders. 

Meanwhile, Brie Larson effortlessly turned heads as she arrived to the red carpet in a silver sleeveless midi dress with a sheer pleated hemline.

The garment also featured a silver trimming and a black and blue sequinned detail along the centre.
