Holly Willoughby and Declan Donnelly are ushering in a brand new era to the Jungle this year – as both are bringing their families with them for the month-long stint.
The all-new presenting line-up for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! 2018 means for the first time in 16 years, both hosts will be parents.
Holly has three children with her TV producer husband Dan Baldwin – Harry, nine, Belle, seven, and three-year-old Chester – while Dec will become a first-time dad in a matter of days when his wife Ali Astall gives birth to their first son or daughter.
With the show running for around three weeks and presenters flying out to Australia up to a week before the launch, both Holly and Dec have decided a month is too long to be away from their respective families.
So Holly and Dan will be taking all three of their kids to the Jungle, while Dec will bring new mum Ali and their newborn bundle of joy with him when the show starts some time in mid-November.
It marks a change of tone to I’m A Celeb life behind the cameras this year.
Dec and his telly partner Ant McPartlin used to enjoy nights out after filming the show in Oz, and Ant even admitted after his first stint in rehab last year that he couldn’t wait to have a beer with Dec in the Jungle.
"I’ve taken a little break from booze — I’ve done two months and I’ll do a little bit longer. But I’m looking forward to having a pint. God, yes!" he said at the time.
"I can’t go to Australia and not have a cold one at the surf club with Dec like we normally do.
"That’s something to look forward to but I have to get well first."
Ant’s birthday falls on November 18, so usually the crew will throw a big party for him once they’ve wrapped filming.
This year, of course, Ant and Dec will be separated by several thousand miles for his 43rd birthday, and Dec’s more likely to be celebrating it by cuddling his baby to sleep.
Australia holds a particularly special memory for both him and Ali as it’s where they got engaged.
Ali, who at the time was working as Ant and Dec’s manager, accompanied them to Australia when Dec asked her to marry him.
"It was just before I’m A Celebrity. Ali and I had a holiday in Oz and I popped the question," he revealed before their 2015 wedding.
"I wasn’t sure how I was going to do it so I took the ring with me. On the last evening we had dinner on the beach and watched the sunset and I did it there."
And, as the Mirror exclusively revealed last week, Holly only accepted the Jungle gig once it had been confirmed she and Dan could take their kids with them.
"Being on the other side of the world to her children was a sticking point," an insider told us.
"Once she’d ensured that they could join her on the adventure, she was thrilled.
"Everyone is delighted with the outcome."
As her eldest two are in primary school, Holly and Dan will have to arrange tutoring to ensure Harry and Belle don’t fall behind with their education.
Parents risk a £60 fine if they remove their children from school during term time, a law that was brought in to deter families taking time off for holidays at cheaper times of the year.
Mirror Online has contacted Holly’s rep for comment.
