IF YOU find you have a dripping tap in your bath then you know it leads to gross brown water stains in your tub.

Fortunately cleaning fanatics have revealed the simple way to get rid of them.


Mrs Hinch has amassed millions of followers on social media thanks to her handy cleaning tips.

And many fans have gone on to create their own social media groups to share cleaning hacks.

The Express reported that one woman asked how to remove the stubborn stains after trying a bunch of different cleaning products to no avail.

She asked: "We’re renting an old farmhouse from a family member which was previously lived in by an elderly couple.

"We aren’t able to replace the bathtub and there’s a large watermark from a dripping tap.

"Any tips on how I can remove it or at least improve it? Pic attached. So far, I’ve tried magic eraser, cif, bleach and viakal. Thanks in advance!"

The post was flooded with recommendations form other cleaning fans sharing their tips.

And one that kept popping up was using a 2p coin to remove the stains.

One person recommended: "Scrape with the edge of a wet 2p, try a small area. You may notice black marks that look like scratches, but they should wash away."

Another commented: "If 2p doesn’t work you can buy a kit for enamel baths. Think it’s like paint?"

A third suggested: "Rub it with a 2p."

Others suggested using white vinegar to banish the stain, one added: "Soak some cotton wool in vinegar and place over the stain. It should clear up. You might need to give it another go. It worked for me."

Soak in vinegar and repeat. As many times as needed. Scrub gently," another commented.
