The prince was dashing in a dark blur velvet suit at the Royal Variety Performance on November 18. The annual celebration, jam-packed with music and comedy acts, raises money for the Royal Variety Charity.

It supports those who have worked in the entertainment industry who are now sick, elderly or impoverished.

William sported a smart white shirt, black bowtie and black trousers.

However, the showstopper of the ensemble was undoubtably his regal, statement blue velvet blazer.

But The Royal Variety Performance was not the first time Prince William stepped out in a velvet blazer.

It has become somewhat of a signature fashion choice for the prince.

On tonight’s coverage of the Royal Variety Performance, it is clear that Kate Middleton absolutely stuns in green, as she wears a floor-length emerald Jenny Packham dress.

But it’s not just Duchess Kate who can pull off this colour, as earlier this year, in October, William stepped out in an emerald green suit at the Earthshot Prize Awards.

According to Boohoo MAN, Google demand for ‘velvet suits’ were up by 426 percent since the Duke of Cambridge appeared in his.

On the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s official Instagram account, royal fans took to the comments section to proclaim their love of Prince William’s style.

Abadi Hodhod stated: “Wow, Kate looks gorgeous as ever but William’s velvet jacket is amazing!”

@youwillneverfindanother123 added: “Who knew the Duke had so much style?”

Much like his wife, William is environmentally conscious, and passionate about sustainability, so is happy to rewear clothing.

He was spotted in the same velvet green blazer at Centrepoint’s 50th anniversary charity gala in 2019.

This charity tackles youth homelessness.

In September, William and Kate took to the red carpet for the No Time to Die premiere.

William channelled Bond, sporting a black velvet jacket over his white shirt, black bowtie and black trousers.

An Instagram page called Royal Fashion Police posed a question in regard to Prince Williams velvet suits: “Blue, green or a black?”

Anette Merke stated: “My favourite is the green-but he looks elegant in all outfits.”

Nathalia Lizieri responded: “He might be one of the most stylish men on earth! So underrated.”

It is clear that the prince enjoys stepping out in glamorous outfits, as exemplified at the Royal Variety Performance.
