Who is Tyler Barker? | The Sun

TYLER Barker was just a child when he was thrust into the limelight in the late noughties.

He was a young teenager when he was caught up in the Alfie Patten and Chantelle Steadman baby drama.

Who is Tyler Barker?

Back in 2009, a then 14-year-old Tyler Barker from Eastbourne found himself at the centre of paternity case.

It all started when it was revealed that Alfie Patten was to become father at 13 years old, and the story garnered widespread attention.

Alfie thought he'd got his 15-year-old girlfriend Chantelle Steadman pregnant when he was just 12 after they had sex at a sleepover in Lower Dicker, East Sussex.

But a DNA test six weeks after baby Maisie's birth proved that he wasn't actually the father, and later, 14-year-old Tyler Barker claimed to be the child's real dad.

"I was devastated," Alfie told The Sun in 2014.

"It was too much to take in. I cried for days and barely left my room.

“To make things worse I never saw Maisie again because Chantelle and her family moved away as soon as they found out I wasn’t the dad.

“I couldn’t face doing anything. I couldn’t go to school. I thought my world had ended."

What has Tyler said about his relationship with Chantelle Steadman?

Tyler has previously opened up about finding out he was Maisie's dad at just 14-years-old.

He has also talked about the relationship he had with her mum Chantelle Steadman.

Back in 2009 a High Court ruled that Tyler could be named as the biological father after a DNA test proved he was.

Speaking to the Daily Mail at the time, a then 14-year-old Tyler said: "Having sex with her was the worst mistake I've ever made in my life. I wish I'd never met her.

"She asked me out a couple of times but I kept turning her down. It was routine for boys to stay over with her in her bed. But I only slept with her the once.

"I did not use any contraception but Chantelle told me she would take the morning-after pill. I thought she would take care of it.

"All my mates have been teasing me but it's not funny."

Tyler has never publicly commented on the paternity case on his child and her mother since.
