Avicii’s newly released single, “SOS,” was recorded before the Swedish DJ’s untimely death last April. It will be featured on his upcoming posthumous album.
Today’s #NewMusicFriday is a bittersweet one because among this week’s releases is a track by Avicii.
The late Swedish DJ and producer recorded "SOS" with Aloe Blacc before his untimely death last April. It will be featured on his posthumous album, "TIM," set to drop this June.
In less somber news, ScHoolBoy Q and Travis Scott teamed up for the first time ever on "CHopstix," Lil Yachty and Chance The Rapper collaborated on "Atlanta House Freestyle," and BTS recruited Halsey for their latest single, "Boy With Luv."
"I went all the way to Korea to make this dream a reality!" she shared of their collaboration. "For years, these guys have impressed me. They have always been so creative and so concise. But this time, they impressed me by how welcomed and at home I felt working on this collab. They are truly great artists and even better friends."
Elsewhere, Jordyn Woods stars in the music video for Justin Roberts’ "Way Too Much," P!nk and Cash Cash released "Can We Pretend," Mark Ronson dropped "Late Night Feelings," Ellie Goulding released "Sixteen," Blake Shelton dropped "God’s Country," and Maren Morris came in hot with "Kingdom of One," which was inspired by HBO’s "Game of Thrones." (Reminder: Season 8 premieres this Sunday. Get excited.)
Also, remember that singer-songwriter we introduced you to a few weeks ago, Jacquelyn Wells? Well, she told TooFab she found her birth family last May and discovered that her biological brother was a Korean rapper she had been listening to for years.
"Before we ever met, while I was listening to his music, he was listening to mine," she told us. "He heard an unfinished version of ‘Say You Don’t Love Me’ and loved it. That’s when we decided to collaborate and finish the song." Chills!
