Ferne McCann’s friends have reportedly said she is “keeping her head down” and hasn’t been in touch since the leaked voice notes saga.

Last month an anonymous Instagram account released a string of voice notes that were said to be from Ferne, with the voice heard calling Sam Faiers a “fat c***”, while there was also a comment about Sam’s sister Billie naming her son Arthur, the name of Ferne's ex.

It’s thought that Ferne has since spoken to the authorities and is trying to uncover the identity of the account.

OK! magazine has now reported that friends say the former TOWIE star has cut herself off a bit in the wake of the saga.

“Ferne is still devastated by the whole thing,” they said.

“It’s awful. Friends are worried about her and haven’t heard from her.

"She’s keeping her head down and those close to her are rallying around her and supporting her.”

Ferne, 32, hasn’t been seen out and about much since she was accused of “fat-shaming” Sam and she has been quiet on social media.

A source recently told The Sun that the whole thing has turned her life “upside down”.

“Ferne was visited by the police on Thursday night after having her life turned upside down by a fake account that has launched a malicious smear campaign against her,” the insider said.

"Officers spent a few hours with her and gave reassurances that they are prioritising this case, tracking the parties responsible."

Ferne, Sam and Billie are all from Brentwood in Essex and they have known each other for many years.

All three of the reality stars appeared in The Only Way Is Essex.
