J Balvin Puts 2022 Tour on Hold Due to ‘Unforeseen Production Challenges’

The ‘Mi Gente’ hitmaker was supposed to kick off ‘Jose’ tour on April 19 at the ATnT Center in San Antonio, Texas and conclude it on June 4 at Coliseo de Puerto Rico in San Juan.

AceShowbizJ Balvin was forced to put his 2022 tour on hold. When making the announcement on social media, the “Mi Gente” hitmaker explained that the “Jose” tour is postponed due to “unforeseen production challenges.”

Making use of Instagram on Tuesday, April 12, the 36-year-old penned, “To My Fans, Throughout the past year, we have been working tirelessly to bring you an exciting and immersive ‘Jose’ Tour USA experience where everyone feels welcome to the party.” He added, “Covid has caused some unforeseen production challenges, and I wouldn’t be able to keep my promise of giving you the absolute best show possible.”

“Because I believe you deserve that, I’ve made the difficult decisions to reschedule the tour,” the Colombian star continued. “All the details are still being worked through with my incredible team, but we’ll be getting you the new dates within the next few weeks and honoring your tickets.”

“I’m continuously in awe of all your love and support and I can’t wait to see you on the road where we will celebrate together and keep the good vibes rolling,” Balvin further noted. He then concluded his message, “Love, J Balvin.”

The 28-date tour was scheduled in support of Balvin’s fifth studio album “Jose”, which was released last September. It was set to kick off on April 19 at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas and conclude on June 4 at Coliseo de Puerto Rico in San Juan.

The postponement arrived a few weeks after Balvin dropped his collaboration with Ed Sheeran, “Sigue”and “Forever My Love”. With the first song, the pair managed to steal the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart dated April 16.

Speaking about how they ended up working together, Sheeran said, “I met J in a gym in New York last year – it was just me and him very early in the morning. I recognized his voice when he was on the phone so I just went up and said ‘Hi.’ ” The British crooner added, “We chatted so long, we ended up having lunch and then afternoon tea. Then just went to being mates who chatted nonstop.”
