Peaky Blinders actor Jack Parr joins Emmerdale for ‘dramatic new storyline’

Peaky Blinders star Jack Parr has joined the cast of ITV soap Emmerdale.

The actor will feature in a major new storyline on the Yorkshire-based soap opera, according to The Sun.

Jack will take on the role of Jordan who embeds himself in the lives of a number of characters. He is due to arrive in the fictional village next week.

TV viewers last saw Jack playing Dougie Bill in the final series of BBC1 show Peaky Blinders.

Speaking of Jack's new role, a source told The Sun: "Jordan will arrive in the village in a shocking way and end up pitting neighbour against neighbour.

“It’s going to be a dramatic storyline and take on a serious issue.”

Jack also stars in Masters Of The Air – a new World War II drama made by Apple TV – alongside Coronation Street's latest cast member Jon-Paul Bell.

Corrie fans saw Jon-Paul make his Weatherfield debut last night as unscrupulous paralegal Ben Chancellor, who has been enlisted by Imran Habeeb to help in his custody fight with Abi Franklin.

Imran is keen for Ben to find proof that Abi has been using drugs again so that he and soon-to-wife Toyah Battersby get custody of baby Alfie.

The character first appeared in Emmerdale in 2020 playing the part of a best man who sought wedding advice from Gabby Thomas.

This news comes after former Emmerdale star Gemma Oaten was rushed to hospital with kidney problems.

The 37-year-old posted a selfie from her hospital bed to Twitter over the weekend, captioning the photo: "In hospital and in safe hands. Scary day. Signing off for sleep after more tests. Much love."

In a later tweet she added: "Hopefully I'll be able to go home in a few days. I have Covid but this actually to do with my kidneys being in distress.

"Really scary but the NHS services have been a lifeline for me today. So poorly & stress hasn't helped but will fight back."
