Former The Only Way Is Essex star James 'Arg' Argent has shown off his five stone weight loss in a clip with TOWIE pal Ferne McCann.

Arg strolled in to see Ferne, who was recording him walking in for her Instagram story, and his weight loss was certainly apparent.

The 33-year-old opted for a light blue, slightly striped, short-sleeved shirt and a pair of navy shorts as he completed the look with navy sliders.

Clearly feeling himself, he danced in the background and moved closer to the camera as he said: "God damn I'm handsome," before planting a peck on Ferne's cheek.

Arg has committed to losing weight after admitting he hit 27st at the start of the year after gaining weight during lockdown.

In April, the reality star had his gastric sleeve surgery and shared the news on Instagram.

He wrote: "Today is the first day of the rest of my life. My weight loss journey has started.

"I've had my gastric sleeve surgery with the incredible team at We Are Transform.

"I've struggled with my weight for years but I'm finally ready both physically and mentally to do something about it. The next few months are going to be tough but I'm determined to reclaim my life."

Messages of support poured in as both pals and fans wished him luck on his weight loss journey.

In the months since surgery, Arg has continued to document his weight loss, with a snap of him at the London Fields Lido just last month as he recognised the importance of taking care of himself.

Earlier this year, Arg admitted his plans to have surgery, telling The Sun that an operation is the only way he could lose weight.

He explained how it hit a point where he had to ask his manager to put his shoes on because he couldn't tie up his own laces.

Arg said: "I don't want to die, it's as simple as that.

"I've been told by doctors that I am morbidly obese and need to lose weight, but I have an eating disorder, so I can't do it.

"Nobody is trying to stop me from having an op, everyone knows it's the only way I can lose weight."

2021 has been a big turning point for Arg, and he vowed to become the happy, healthy and confident person he once was – and he has been keeping his followers updated on his journey through his social platforms.
