Toy Story is known the world over as the Disney franchise that many millennials grew up with and the beloved characters have stayed with those kids way into adulthood.

The final film was released in 2019 but the first was way back in 1995 when the ditsy astronaut and the logical cowboy became lodged in children's hearts.

The star-studded lineup included voice acting from some of Hollywood's finest such as Tom Hanks, Tim Allen and John Ratzenberger.

If you've ever wondered about their questionable pasts or what they're up to now, then you're in the right place.

Keep reading to find out what your favourite voice actors have been up to since the final film was released.

    Tom Hanks

The American actor has one of the most recognisable voices in the Hollywood industry.

He has won countless awards throughout his time on the silver screen and since his role in the first Toy Story film, Hanks has gone on to lend his iconic voice to Woody three times more.

Toy Story 3 was the first animated film to gross a total of over $1billion (£830million) and became the highest grossing animated film at the time.

Most recently, Hanks played Tom Parker in Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis alongside Austin Butler and gave a stellar performance as the money-grabbing manager.

Tom is ranked as the fifth highest all time box office star in North America and he has a whopping net worth of £336million.

He is continuously listed among the greatest actors of all time and has a lasting legacy that many can only dream of.

    Tim Allen

The Buzz voice actor has since starred in a number of works including the Santa Clause franchise and Wild Hogs.

Despite his immense fame, Tim had a hard start in life.

Tragedy struck when he was just 11-years-old when his mother, father and four brothers were hit by a drunk driver.

His father was tragically killed in the accident and Allen described the loss by saying that his “world changed overnight”.

He was left feeling “helpless, useless and pathetic” and although his mother eventually remarried, he struggled in his personal life.

When he was in college, he began dealing drugs and was caught after he put 650 grams of cocaine in a locker at an airport.

He unknowingly handed the keys over to an undercover police officer, expecting $35,000.

Tim got a more lenient sentence after he named the people involved and used his time in jail to practice his comedy material.

Now, he is twice married, has two children and lives in a lavish Los Angeles home that spans over 2604 acres.

    Erik Von Detten

Detten was the voice of the terrifying Sid in the Toy Story franchise and went on to star in other Disney productions such as Hercules, Tarzan and TV series Recess.

He made a cameo appearance in Toy Story three as Sid in his twenties, but as of 2018 the former actor now works for a precious metals asset management firm and is now a sales manager.

The Toy Story star has been married to his wife Angela also since 2018 and the pair have two children together.

    John Ratzenberger

The Disney legend voiced Hamm in Toy Story, but also a whole host of other animated faves from the production studio.

He leant his voice to the Abominable Snowman in Monsters Inc, Mack in Cars, The Underminer in The Incredibles and many more.

Ratzenberger had a role in every single Pixar movie and video game up until the year 2020 and Soul was the first not to feature the actor.

It is unknown why John has not appeared in a Pixar film since and many fans have speculated why that is.

Fans have turned to online forums to debate the reason and one Reddit user gave a rather logical answer.

They wrote: “I think he just moved on. I haven’t heard anything about him being fired, but since he’s still acting in other animated movies (he was in Luck not long ago), I wonder if he just thought the gag ran its course and parted ways with the company.”

Many of his fans may not know that John developed a successful packaging-alternative product.

The Disney star created the product out of biodegradable and non-toxic paper that had been recycled as an alternative to packing peanuts or bubble wrap.

SizzlePak was manufactured by Eco-Pak industries, which he later sold to Ranpak Corp.
