Cat owner convinced pet is ‘broken’ after bizarre meow amazes internet

A cat’s hilarious meow has led its owner to joke that the pet is “officially broken”.

The moggie was filmed by Ellie May meowing in the middle of a landing as its owner and pal watched on.

But, instead of sounding like a cat, the noise that came out of its mouth was more akin to a rooster.

Ellie shared the hilarious footage to TikTok last week, captioning it: “My cat is officially broken.”

It has quickly become a viral sensation, with more than 1.2million people tuning in to watch it.

One viewer wrote: “This is hilarious. He sounds like a parrot imitating a dog.”

Another said the meowing actually had an effect on their own cat, saying: “This woke my cat up. She hated all of whatever it said.”

“This is a rooster,” a third simply commented and another agreed, saying: “Chicken spirit has gotten to him.”

And a fourth added: “That would scare the hell out of me if I heard that in the middle of the night.”

It is not the only cat story to have become an internet sensation in recent weeks.

Reddit viewers were amazed last week after footage emerged of a cat’s clever big sister coming to the rescue when it lost its toy.

The clip has been given more than 44,000 upvotes since it was uploaded to Reddit with hundreds flocking to the comments section.

“It's a cat,” one said. “There was an ulterior purpose.”

Another clip surfaced soon after showing a cat and a dog coming to blows.

And earlier this month, a cat was filmed going to the bathroom just like humans.
