Putting a clean pair of pants on every morning may be a thing of the past if a US startup called HercLéon has its way.

The company has developed a germ-proof fabric that they say rarely, if ever, needs washing and they’r marketing it for sheets, socks, and now underpants.

On the website for HercLéon’s underwear brand, Kribi, the company writes, "we believe the future of clothing is laundry-free, and we are excited to lead the human race towards this cleaner, more eco-friendly, and less time-wasting way of life."

The revolutionary fabric, which the company calls HercFiber, is made with a blend of bamboo, eucalyptus, beechwood, and copper.

According to the manufacturers, the unique blend of antibacterial ingredients means you can wear Kribi pants for days at a time, just airing them every now and again to restore their “just laundered” freshness.

“Whether you're planning on going for an all-day hike, weekend camping trips, or even just going to the gym and then the bar to grab drinks with friends; your Kribi underwear will keep you feeling fresh & smelling good,” the company insists.

Among HercLéon’s other products is a new kind of anti-coronavirus face mask with antibacterial properties that prevent the dreaded ‘“mask acne” associated with keeping your face covering on all day.

They say they’re now running down stock of the mask, though because after “the amazing news about the vaccine” the need for them will soon be gone.

Instead, they promise, they’re planning to make a “shirt that’s alive.”

HercLéon founder Wenceslaus Muenyi appeared on Shark Tank, the US equivalent of Dragon’s Den, where one of the millionaire backers saying that his pitch for “Men’s sheets” was “the best pitch ever.”
