Chris Jericho stuns All In fans with shock attack as Cody Rhodes wins NWA title

WWE legend Chris Jericho made a surprise appearance at All In on a night Cody Rhodes became NWA World Heavyweight Champion.

In front of a sell-out crowd at the Sears Centre in Chicago, Jericho sprung a post-match attack on rival Kenny Omega after he defeated Pentagon Jr.

It continues a thrilling feud between the veteran competitor and the New Japan Pro Wrestling favourite, the two having done battle all around the world.

The cameo from the six-time WWE Champion was just part of an electric show on what was billed as the biggest independent wrestling event in history.

Rhodes, one of the event’s three creators alongside The Young Bucks, claimed an emotional victory over Nick Aldis to capture the historic NWA World Heavyweight Championship.

It is a title that his father, Dusty Rhodes, so memorably held years ago.

In the night’s main event, a six-man tag team bout, Kota Ibushi and The Young Bucks defeated Rey Mysterio, Fenix and Bandido.

All of the key stars addressed the live crowd after the show went off the air, strongly hinting at an All In 2 at some stage further down the line.

An emotional Rhodes said: "We are sticking together. Because no one, no man, no company, no entity owns pro wrestling.

"We [wrestlers and the crowd] own pro wrestling."
