Jose Mourinho is set to go to war with Mino Raiola over Paul Pogba’s summer of transfer links.

Pogba has been linked with moves to Barcelona and Juventus, with reports claiming that the player agreed personal terms with both clubs ahead of potential moves.

"Manchester United are the new Arsenal!" Red Devils fans fume at club’s lack of transfer action on Deadline Day

Manchester United fans are dubbing themselves the ‘new Arsenal’ after a disappointing Transfer Deadline Day.

The Red Devils were linked with no fewer than five centre-backs going into the final day of this summer’s window, and fans were full of optimism.

Toby Alderweireld was the first defender the club were interested in signing, and there were hopes Jose Mourinho’s men would go back in for him on Thursday.

Harry Maguire’s name had also been bandied about, with Leicester City boss confirming the centre-back WOULD be in Manchester soon… but only because the Foxes face United on the first day of the season.

Jose Mourinho changes tune on Manchester United squad he spent summer moaning about — as transfer window shuts

He has spent the summer casting shade on rival clubs’ spending, while systematically seeming to destroy his own players.

Yet on the eve of the season, with only minor improvements to the fringes of his team and the transfer window now shut, Jose Mourinho has a very different narrative about a squad he recently dismissed as ‘trying to survive and avoid ugly results’.

Perhaps with the realisation that his aggressive, controversial tactics that appeared to devalue his players to force the Manchester United board to sign even more stars, simply hasn’t worked this time, the tune has changed dramatically.
