The United boss is still unhappy about the club’s summer transfer business as the board failed to deliver his main targets, and now he wants new recruits in January, according to The Mirror.
Leicester’s Harry Maguire and Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld were also on Mourinho’s shopping list.
He also demanded a goalscoring winger and had identified the Inter Milan star.
Perisic and Rebic featured in the goalless draw with England on Friday.
Inter Milan wanted £48million for 29-year-old World Cup finalist Perisic, a fee United refused to meet.
Eintracht Frankfurt knew Mourinho was desperate to add a winger and quoted £40m for 25-year-old Rebic.
Mourinho’s plan in the summer was to deploy either of them to supply service from wide areas for main striker Romelu Lukaku.
He was also upset by the failure to bring in Lazio’s Serb international Sergej Milinkovic-Savic who he watched again in midweek playing for Serbia alongside his fellow countryman Nikola Milenkovic.
SunSport has revealed a potential deal for Milinkovic-Savic could be revived in January, but it would eclipse the £89m shelled out for Paul Pogba in 2016.
