Colton Underwood dumped Tia Booth on Monday’s dramatic three-hour episode of Bachelor In Paradise, and it was announced on Tuesday that Colton will return as the next Bachelor.
Tia and Colton have a long history, at least as far as reality show relationships go. After Tia was eliminated from Arie’s season of The Bachelorette, Colton and Tia began dating at some point before Colton began filming for Becca Kufrin’s season of The Bachelorette.
Tia and Colton’s relationship was a major plot line throughout that show, and though Tia gave Becca her blessing to pursue Colton, she later showed up near the end of the show to reveal that she still had feelings for Colton. He was eliminated by Becca in that episode.
Colton and Tia reconnected in Paradise, and though they didn’t instantly hit it off as Colton waffled over his feelings, he eventually labeled her his “girlfriend” in episode 5.
The entire timeline of the relationship is still a bit murky, but by the time of their breakup on episode 8, Tia revealed that she had known Colton for six months. Tia was devastated by Colton’s decision to break it off, and she encouraged him to focus on himself.
“You need to really just focus on this time and really figuring yourself out, so you can fully give yourself to someone.”
Colton didn’t need much time, apparently, as he’ll soon be dating somewhere around 30 different women when the new season of The Bachelor begins. Tia reacted to the news on Twitter, and she’s wishing Colton the best.
Congratulations @Colt3FIVE ? I hope your season is full of protein powder, puppies, and naps! #TheBachelor
And NO I will NOT be a contestant on Colton’s season. Lord bless.
