It seems Urban Meyer won't be out of the college football realm next season after all.
The former Ohio State coach is nearing a deal to join Fox Sports as a college football analyst, reports the Sporting News. Meyer could work as either an in-studio analyst or color commentator for game coverage for Fox Sports, the Sporting News reported, citing a source.
A Fox Sports spokesman declined comment to USA TODAY Sports on Thursday night.
Meyer retired as Ohio State coach following the Buckeyes' 28-23 win over Washington in the Rose Bowl. That victory ended a turbulent season for Meyer at Ohio State. Meyer was suspended three games following an investigation into his handling of domestic violence allegations against his former wide receivers coach, dealt with ongoing health problems and led the Buckeyes to a Big Ten title.
