WORLD on Fire is set for a highly-anticipated return to BBC One.

Who is in the cast of World on Fire?
After a long absence, World on Fire season two is set to return to screens.
The show, which was a huge success when it first aired in 2019, will see a number of familiar faces return, as well as some major cast changes.
Here we take a look at the cast behind the main characters in the series.
Lesley Manville
Actress Lesley Manville is back for the popular drama four years after the first season aired.
She will play Robina, the wealthy mother of Harry Chase.
Discussing her return to the role, Manville said: ''It’s wonderful to be bringing Peter Bowker’s epic scripts to life again. Rich characters telling great, human stories set against the backdrop of World War Two. It’s a feast!''
Lesley Manville is also known for her roles in The Crown and Magpie Murders.
Jonah Hauer-King
He returns to the role of former British embassy interpreter Harry Chase.
Hauer-King is best known for playing Prince Eric in the live-action adaptation of Disney's musical fantasy film The Little Mermaid.
He has also appeared in the TV series The Flatshare, Howards End, Little Women and in the films The Last Photograph, and A Dog's Way Home.
Julia Brown
Also reprising her role as Lois Bennett is Scottish star Julia Brown, a talented singer and factory worker from Manchester.
After first landing the role in season one, Brown shared an insight into her character.
She said: ''[Lois is] a strong woman who cracks on with things no matter how tough they are.
"She has a real passion for music and that’s something she gets to explore when the war begins – she goes to places she never would have gone with ENSA."
The Scot has also appeared on Shetland and The Last Kingdom.
Zofia Wichlacz
Zofia Wichlacz will return as Kasia, a brave Polish freedom fighter.
Season one saw the fictional character in a passionate love affair with the young English translator Harry Chase.
Prior to starring in the hit BBC drama, Wichlacz appeared in films such as Warsaw 44 and Afterimage, and television programmes such as Medics and The Romanoffs.
Blake Harrison
Blake Harrison is back for more harrowing scenes as platoon sergeant Stan.
The actor shot to fame in 2008 when he took on the role of Neil Sutherland in the much-loved E4 comedy, The Inbetweeners.
He has also played Barney in Him & Her, Theo Roberts in Death in Paradise, Mamaca in Doctor Who, Dan in Kate & Koji, and the voice of Scoop in Bob the Builder.
Harrison has also been in a selection of films.
Who else is in the cast?
Other returning cast members include Eugénie Derouand as Henriette, Eryk Biedunkiewicz as Jan, and Cel Spellman as Joe.
Also joining the World on Fire cast are a slew of brand-new stars.

When is World of Fire on BBC One?
In June 2023, the BBC released the first full trailer for series two – and announced the show's return date.
The BBC wrote: ''World on Fire series two comes to BBC One and BBC iPlayer from Sunday 16 July.''
The first series recently returned to BBC iPlayer where it can be streamed in full ahead of series two.
