1. Celebrity Big Brother summer 2018: Has it been cancelled?

There have been a lot of rumours that suggest Celebrity Big Brother could be coming to an end.

A Channel 5 spokesperson has now responded to the claims, revealing that there have been no further decisions made since the last time this was reported.

“The situation remains unchanged,” a CBB spokesperson told Digital Spy. “Big Brother is currently contracted until the end of the year, there’s no update on future series beyond 2018.”

2. Celebrity Big Brother summer 2018: When does it start?

We FINALLY have a confirmed launch date – Celebrity Big Brother 2018 will return to our screens on Thursday, August 16 at 9pm on Channel 5.

And we should prepare for a “storm”, apparently.

3. Celebrity Big Brother summer 2018 line-up: Who are the housemates?

Nothing has been confirmed yet by Channel 5, but here are the names we’ve heard through the grapevine so far:

Ben Jardine

Who? Reality TV contestant from Channel 4’s Married At First Sight.

What’s the rumour? He remained in the headlines after filming thanks to his divorce from fellow contestant Stephanie, and The Sun now report that he’ll be entering the CBB house.

A source told the publication: “Ben has had a year from hell so is thrilled to be going on Celebrity Big Brother.

“It means he can finally put the past behind him and move on.”

Who? ’80s pop star and close friend of Simon Cowell.

What’s the rumour? This one comes from OK! online. According to the publication, Sinitta is “definitely going in to the CBB house.”

“They’ve wanted her for a while and she’s always wanted to do it,” the source continued.

“In the past she has made some demands that pushed producers to say no in the end, but this year she’s good to go.”

The X Factor personality previously told OK! magazine that she was in talks with the producers, also revealing that she had given them a list of demands.

“I’ve given them my rider, but there have been complaints,” she said. “I just asked for a few things that would make it nice because they’ve asked me every year and I’ve always said no. But if these things could happen, then I could do it.”

“If I last more than halfway, I want my puppy to visit me,” Sinitta continued. “I want a swearing ban, because I don’t swear and people shouldn’t be allowed to swear at me or around me. I asked for a bodyguard who would stand with me at all times, especially when I’m asleep. If they provide alcohol then I want tequila because it’s all I drink. Quite reasonable, really.

“The producer said it’s the most ridiculous rider they’d ever had. It has gone a bit quiet, I must admit. But if you don’t ask, you don’t get!”

Rodrigo Alves

Who? Known as the ‘Human Ken Doll’, he’s made headlines for his many cosmetic procedures.

What’s the rumour? According to The Sun, Rodrigo has signed up to head into the house so that the public can “know the personality behind the headlines.”

Celebrity Big Brother is the perfect platform for him to show the public what he’s really like, change public perception,” a source reportedly told the publication.

Jermaine Pennant

Who? Former Arsenal and Liverpool football player.

What’s the rumour? Fitting with the reported “retribution” theme, Jermaine is apparently looking to use the CBB house to change public opinion following a drink-driving charge in 2005.

According to The Sun, a source revealed: “He wants to show everyone a different side and prove he’s a changed man. Big Brother is his best chance to do that and he’s looking forward to the experience and opportunity.”

Paris Lees

Who? Journalist, presenter and transgender rights activist.

What’s the rumour? According to The Sun, Paris has confirmed her place for the summer edition. “It’s a done deal,” a source reportedly told the publication.

Sally Morgan

Who? ATV medium known as ‘Psychic Sally’, her previous on-screen appearances include ITV’s Sally Morgan: Star Psychic and Sky Living’s Psychic Sally: On the Road, as well as guest spots on Loose Women and Celebrity Juice.

What’s the rumour? There’s not much to this one, other than The Sun are reporting that she’ll be part of the new line-up.

Kirstie Alley

Who? American TV and movie actress, who most recently starred in Fox’s Scream Queens.

What’s the rumour? Well, according to The Sun, this one isn’t a rumour at all and is instead an honest-to-God fact. Stayed tune to find out if that’s true.

Ryan Thomas

Who? Soap star best known for his role as Jason Grimshaw on Coronation Street.

What’s the rumour? Another name that’s already been officially confirmed for the series, according to The Sun. The rumour mill says that Ryan is hoping to recreate the reality TV success of his brothers Adam (who starred on I’m a Celebrity) and Scott (who was on Love Island).

Jonathan Van Ness

Who? One of the Fab Five on Netflix’s hit reboot series Queer Eye.

What’s the rumour? Jonathan has apparently been in talks to star on this year’s series of CBB, with a source telling The Sun that that show bosses are “desperate” to land him for the series, wanting to capitalise on the success of Queer Eye.

Kieran Hayler

Who? Katie Price’s estranged husband.

What’s the rumour? This definitely isn’t the first time Kieran has been linked to a reality series but according to The Sun, CBB bosses have approached Kieran to star in this year’s series.

Stormy Daniels

Who? Stormy, real name Stephanie Clifford, is an American actress who made headlines over claims about US President Donald Trump.

What’s the rumour? There’s been a lot of speculation about Stormy’s potential place in this year’s CBB house, but now The Sun is reporting that she has indeed signed up to appear on the show.

A source claimed to the publication that “she’ll make headlines around the world” and it’s “a chance for Stormy to show people who she really is”.

Dan Osborne

Who? Former The Only Way Is Essex star and husband of Jacqueline Jossa.

What’s the rumour? According to The Sun, the reality star has signed the contract and will take part in the 2018 series.

Bobby Norris

Who? Much-loved The Only Way Is Essex star and BFF to Gemma Collins.

What’s the rumour? According to The Sun, CBB bosses have been keen to get Bobby into the house for years and, after many negotiations, he’s said to have finally signed on the dotted line.

He has previously revealed that he’d be up for going into the house one day, so perhaps he’s decided that this is his year…

Bobby has said before now: “I’ve watched it literally since series one day one, and I’m on BOTS most series to be fair and I think I’d quite fancy the challenge of doing it, because I’m such a fan of the show.”

Gabby Allen

Who? Former Love Island star who recently split from boyfriend Marcel From Blazin’ Squad.

What’s the rumour? This rumour also comes from The Sun, which claims that she’s eager “to do something challenging to help push her out of her comfort zone” following her devastating break-up from Marcel Somerville.

Samantha Markle

Who? The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle’s half-sister

What’s the rumour? This one comes from the Daily Star (via The Sun), who have reported that bringing Samantha Markle into the series would be a perfect fit for the series theme (since confirmed as “Eye of the Storm”). Samantha has seen her fair share following on from her several TV interviews about Meghan’s marriage to Prince Harry during the build-up to the release of her tell-all book.

Chloe Ayling

Who? A model who made headlines after being kidnapped. She also recently appeared on This Morning to discuss the conviction of her kidnapper and to offer a warning to other women in the industry.

What’s the rumour? It’s been reported that Chloe could be in the running to enter the CBB house. “Chloe has previously said that she wouldn’t do reality TV, but she is in talks to do the next series of Celebrity Big Brother,” an insider told The Sun.

Georgia May Foote

Who? Former Coronation Street actress and Strictly Come Dancing contestant

What’s the rumour? Georgia proved to be extremely popular when she competed on Strictly. Now, reports claim that Channel 5 bosses want her to go into the Celebrity Big Brother house and work the same magic she did for the Beeb.

Paul Cattermole

Who? S Club 7 star

What’s the rumour? The singer revealed earlier this year that he is completely broke following the group’s demise. Now, fans think he might considering signing up for Celebrity Big Brother for some extra cash, despite previously hinting that he isn’t a fan of the show, saying: “When you look at some of the people they put in, it really is extended friends of famous people. Cousins of friends.”

Charlotte Dawson

Who? Reality star and daughter of late comedian Les Dawson

What’s the rumour? Channel 5 bosses are reportedly in talks with Charlotte following the popularity of her Ex on the Beach co-star Jess Impiazzi last series. “We know it’s what the audience want to see more of,” an insider told the Daily Star. Charlotte’s recently signed with the same management as Jess, and the insider suggested that she “stands in pretty good stead” to enter the house.

Brendan Cole

Who? Former Strictly Come Dancing pro

What’s the rumour? Brendan announced in January that he had been axed from Strictly as BBC bosses decided not to renew his contract. So what will his next career move be? It’s been reported that the ballroom guru is being considered for the new series of Celebrity Big Brother.

If he does decide to sign up, Brendan will be following in the footsteps of his former co-star James Jordan.

Teasing the theme at the very same time, the announcement said: “Celebrity Big Brother: Eye of the Storm, coming soon.”

7. Celebrity Big Brother 2018: Will this be the last ever series?

Possibly. This year marks the end of Celebrity Big Brother‘s contract with Channel 5. If TV bosses choose not to renew it, this could very well be the end of the road for CBB.

Commenting on the show’s future, Channel 5’s current boss Ben Frow said: “We’re going to have a discussion about it. I need to know, like I would with any commission, ‘What are the plans for the future? How will it be creatively renewed? How is it still important to me?’

“It’s a very established brand, a very successful brand but there’s a big shiny new show on the block called Love Island. We need to take a good long look at Big Brother and go, ‘What does it look like for the future?'”
