Coronation Street star upsets fans with Covid vaccine comments

Coronation Street’s Matthew Marsden has left fans upset with his comments on the Coronavirus vaccine.

Replying to a tweet which which claimed there is ‘no difference between vaccine-induced vs naturally occurring antibodies’, Matthew – who played Chris Collins in the ITV soap – said: ‘This is absolutely correct. ‘I am staggered by how many people who claim to follow the science, reject this.

‘Are they just wanting to force their will upon others? … It should not be
controversial for someone to advocate for a persons right to choose
whether or not they should be injected with a chemical.

‘Personal liberty should be something everyone should get behind. The inconsistency inwhich it is applied by some, is staggering.’

‘I understand why people are having the vaccine,’ he continued, ‘It odd that so many don’t understand why an individual might not want to take it.’

One fan replied: ‘It’s not odd at all. We are in a pandemic FFS, it affects everyone.’

‘You’ve stated most people survive which is a good thing
but how many of those have long covid??,’ added another.

‘Loads are suffering to do basic things in life, ask Kate Garraway off GMB TV about her husband in hospital a year with it and just come back home but still very very unwell.’

Matthew appeared in Corrie between 1997 and 1998.
