Corrie’s Jane Danson shares wedding day throwback with ‘best friend’ husband Robert Beck

Coronation Street star Jane Danson celebrated her 16th wedding anniversary with husband Robert Beck on Friday.

The actress, 43, who plays Leanne Battersby on the ITV soap, took to Instagram to share a gorgeous throwback snap from her wedding in December 2005.

In the black-and-white picture, it sees Robert putting a wedding ring on Jane's hand as she beams to her husband.

Calling Robert her "best friend", Jane penned: "16 years ago today the world was a very different place. My world changed forever. I wish we could go back-in time . I would go back to this day.

"Marrying my best friend in front of our special people, some who are sadly no longer with us. Happy anniversary my love @robertbeck529 x," followed by a heart emoji.

Jane's Coronation Street co-stars and celebrity pals were quick to flock to the comments section as they celebrated the milestone.

Sally Carman wrote: "Oh Happy Anniversary you guys! You look so beautiful Jane!" followed with heart emojis.

Georgia Taylor commented: "Oh happy anniversary you darlings! What a day that was xxx."

While Lucy-Jo Hudson put: "Happy anniversary gorgeous xx."

It comes after Jane opened up on the secret recipe for her successful long marriage to husband Robert in an exclusive interview with OK!

She said: "Me and my husband have been together for 22 years, and we're really good friends as well as loving each other lots."

Jane compared her off-screen marriage to her relationship on-screen with Nick Tilsey.

"I think Nick and Leanne are similar in a way," Jane said.

She added: "Purely by chance I caught some of the classic Coronation Street's yesterday and it was Leanne and Toyah having the same rows that they're still having, and Leanne and Nick having the same rows they're still having.

"We feel like we've gone full circle They've been childhood sweethearts since they were about sixteen, and I was 18 when I met my husband so I think whatever it is they keep coming back to each other. It's nice for us as actors to be able to draw on that history."

The talented actress playfully added: "Leanne has much more drama in her life than I do in mine though that's for sure!"

Jane and her husband met at the first-ever British Soap Awards.

Robert previously revealed to OK!: “We met at the first ever Soap Awards back in 1999. I was in Emmerdale at the time. Jane came over and introduced herself.”

Jane added at the time: “I’m not the world’s most confident person but I’d had a crush on Rob since I was 15, so I thought, I have to speak to him, it’s fate."

“Rob’s absolutely my best friend in the world. We’ve only had about two rows in twenty years. I’m not saying we don’t get on each other’s nerves sometimes but we’re a strong team and we’ve always allowed each other to be individuals,” she added.

After years of friendship, which turned into a relationship, the loved-up couple tied the knot in 2005 before welcoming their first child Harry just one year later. In 2009, Jane and Robert welcomed their second son into the world.

In 2018, Jane spoke to OK! about her heartbreaking miscarriage, saying: “Sadly we lost our third child a few years ago – I found out I’d miscarried at the three-month scan.

“It was heartbreaking and it took us a long time to get over it – I don’t think you ever do.

“There will always be that sadness there and there’ll always be that desire, but we’re getting older now and the boys are growing up. Sometimes you just have to appreciate what you have.”
