Dancing On Ice faces more ‘fix’ allegations after James Jordan’s surprise win

Dancing On Ice is facing more ‘fix’ allegations after James Jordan’s surprise win.

The former Strictly Come Dancing star and his professional partner Alexandra Schauman were the shock champions of the 2019 series.

The public decided that James was their winner over Love Island’s Wes Nelson , who was runner-up, and third-placed X Factor singer Saara Aalto.

However, some Dancing On ice viewers are not happy that the professional dancer was crowned champion – even though he had no previous skating experience.

Many claimed that novice performer Wes was ‘robbed’ of victory, but others jumped to James’ defence and ridiculed the ‘fix’ claims.

Angry viewers took to Twitter to slam the result and claim it was ‘unfair’.

One furious viewer said: "#DancingOnIce is a complete fix! Was obvious from day one he would win because he is a professional. People have just wasted 2 months of their lives watching that c***! What a joke!!!"

Another added: "As expected, the professional dancer wins, what a fix from day one! A professional dancer should not have been allowed to participate!"

A third agreed: "Wes and Vanessa were robbed, they were so much better and James is a professional dancer #fix"

Others hit back at the ‘fix’ claims and insisted that James was the worthy winner.

"@The_JamesJordan won because more people voted for him, it’s that simple. Wes wasn’t robbed and it’s not a fix," said one fan.

Another argued: "James may have prior experience of dancing, but he was in the same boat as everyone else when it came to skating. the knowledge he’d learned of dancing wouldn’t be the same of that he learned to do on ice. saying he was undeserving or that it’s a ‘fix’ if unfair"

"Calm down about the fix claims. Seriously, do these ppl not understand the concept of ICE, very different situation to solid ground underneath you, or razor sharp ice blades compared to flat tap shoes," pointed out a third.

Wes was the hot favourite to win, so James was in disbelief as the result was announced in the studio and nearly collapsed in shock.

His wife Ola Jordan was in tears as she applauded her husband in the audience.

Overwhelmed James said: "Oh my word. I couldn’t have given any more."

Pointing at second-placed Wes, he added: "And the only reason I had to give so much was that little thing there."

This came after viewers complained about the voting lines opening at the start of the show.

Annoyed Dancing On Ice fans took to Twitter to question why voting was opened so early.

One angry viewer said: "Vote open before anyone has skated? Proof if you needed it that #DancingOnIce isn’t a skating competition."

Another added: "’The vote is officially open’ – Based on what? We haven’t even seen them skate yet! You may as well ask us to vote on Britain’s Got Talent now without having seen any of the auditions whatsoever."

A third said: "Popularity contest… Voting open before anyone has even done an individual routine"

*Dancing On Ice aired tonight on ITV at 6pm
