Emmerdale bosses confirm villager will die in factory fire – but who will burn to death in the shock blaze?

EMMERDALE bosses have confirmed that one villager will die in the upcoming factory blaze – and there are several favourites in the firing line.

The fire at the Sharma sweet factory will be caused by two residents later this month.

The show’s Executive producer Jane Hudson said of the summer storylines: “Not everybody will make it out alive, whether that’s one, two, three or four, you’re just going to have to see.”

But with several of the soap's beloved characters facing their own secret turmoil- who will burn to death in the shock blaze?

Tracey Metcalfe

Earlier this week it was revealed that Tracey- played by Amy Walsh- will be stuck in the stockroom when the factory goes up in flames.

Emmerdale producer Laura Shaw said: "We’ve got our big week coming up at the end of the month with ‘Emmerdeadville’, as we’re calling it, as the backdrop to the drama that’s going to be kicking off.

"As the fire takes hold there’s a huge explosion. Will Tracy get out in time?

"I can’t tell you, but I think it’s safe to say there are some heart-breaking scenes ahead for our villagers and Tracy’s life is never going to be the same again.”

Megan Macey

Emmerdale fans are convinced that Megan Macey will be the one to die in the devastating fire following Gaynor's announcement that she is leaving the soap.

Discussing the possible victims on Digital Spy's fan forum recently, one wrote: "My money is on it being Megan that dies."

Gaynor announced that she was leaving Emmerdale after eight years in May.

She told OK!: "I know it’s a risk but I need to push myself out of my comfort zone. I’ve always been the type of person who doesn’t want to stay playing the same character for too long."I’ve been on the show for over six years and have naturally reached a point where I’d like to do some other stuff."

And with Megan narrowly avoiding prison after mowing down Eric Pollard, a shock death could cut her character out of the soap for good.

Robert Sugden

Soap bosses have hinted that Robert could die this summer after confirming that actor Ryan Hawley is quitting the show.

Emmerdale producer Laura Shaw revealed: “Robert is intent on getting his revenge at any cost, even if it kills him.

“Victoria’s evil rapist Lee is still pursuing her, so Victoria decides that the only way that she’s ever going to live happily and peacefully with the baby, is if she leaves the village forever.

“As her brother finds this out, he’s obviously devastated. He doesn’t want his sister to leave at all and as Lee piles the pressure on both of them, Robert is pushed to the very edge.”

And the summer blaze could support fan's previous theories about what will happen to the character in his final scenes.

One wrote: "Possible theories I have heard about Robert leaving: killed by Lee; goes to prison; something happens that makes him just leave; an accident kills him/he dies; he commits suicide. Feel free to add more #Emmerdale #Robron."

Amy Wyatt

Since returning to Emmerdale Amy has jumped back into her job at the factory alongside mum Kerry.

But, with her place of work set to go up in flames, will Amy be the one to perish?

Since returning she's been battling Cain Dingle to regain custody of their son, Kyle, and with the soap villain's wife Moira about to embark on a steamy affair with Amy's love interest Nate fans think that it is part of a plot by the new farmhand.

One wrote: "So I’m thinking that Nate is genuinely interested in Amy but has some vendetta against Cain which is why he’ll deliberately try and come between him and Moira. That affair will be lust on her part but a plot by Nate #Emmerdale"

Could Cain be the one to start the fire in an attempt to elimate the mother of his child?

If Amy does die it looks like she might leave harbouring a dark secret, as a spoiler clip released by soap bosses reveals her saying: "How can I live with what we did?"

Dawn Woods

Like Amy, Dawn is also one of the factory workers who could die in the shocking blaze at the end of this month.

Earlier this week it was revealed that Dawn could be in danger as she acts as a honey trap by Robert to lure Victoria Sugden's rapist Lee Posner.

After Robert tells his husband Aaron about their scheme, he tries to stop the scheme from happening, but Dawn is already flirting with Lee, who's offered to take her somewhere quieter.

In a teaser clip released by the soap ahead of their explosive summer scenes, Dawn says: "They'll find out who he is. They always do."

But could Lee take her as his next victim or could he resort to arson after discovering her and Robert's plan?
