Emmerdale’s Danny Miller discovered his fiancée Steph Jones was pregnant while he was filming the barn explosion scenes for the ITV soap.

The Aaron Dingle actor revealed last month that he’s expecting his first child with his childhood sweetheart, with the couple joining today’s Loose Women to talk about their journey to parenthood.

‘I was filming the barn explosion that aired about six weeks ago,’ Danny revealed. ‘I was filming the aftermath of that at the hospital.

‘Luckily I didn’t have too much to do.’

Danny explained that because of the Covid situation, the cast have been using iPads and their phones for their scripts and so he had his phone on him – and luckily kept it off airplane mode because he knew Steph had been feeling unwell.

‘I was in the middle of the storyline and I had seven missed calls and four texts, none of which made sense,’ he continued.

‘I then had to step off set when I could. I knew there was something going on.’

Danny and Steph previously said they didn’t think they were going to be able to conceive naturally.

‘We’re very humbled by it as we know not everyone is as lucky,’ Danny told OK! magazine.

‘It was a massive surprise,’ added Steph, ‘Because emotionally we’d been psyching ourselves up for IVF.

‘It was meant to be. We got engaged at the beginning of January and
found out we were expecting in February.’

Loose Women airs weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV.
