Here’s everything you need to know about Jermaine before he enters the famous house…
Who is Jermaine and why is he famous?
Jermaine, 35, was born in Nottingham and played for his local side, Notts County, as a youngster.
He earned such promising reviews that he was signed by Arsenal at age 16, but he struggled to make an impact and spent time on loan at Watford, Leeds and Birmingham.
The footballer gained notoriety in 2005 when he played a match wearing an electronic tag while on probation following a drink-driving conviction.
Jermaine has also played for Liverpool, earned 24 caps for the England under-21 team, and last played as a winger for Billericay Town.
Jermaine has been in the press recently thanks to his autobiography.
In it, he claims that Ashley Cole had a girlfriend when he started seeing Cheryl and that the former Girls Aloud star was inside the footballer’s flat when his girlfriend came round and tried to get in.
He also says he tried it on with Kimberley Walsh, to no avail, and that while he was dating Jennifer Metcalfe, his dog killed her cat.
Is he definitely going on Celebrity Big Brother?
CBB bosses were reportedly desperate to sign Jermaine up.
“Producers have approached a lot of stars for this series but Jermaine really stood out," a source told The Sun .
"He’s got a really interesting story and the producers think some people could really relate to what he’s been through.
“Jermaine would definitely be a pull for any football fans with all the clubs he’s played at.”
* Celebrity Big Brother starts at 9pm on Thursday 16 August on Channel 5.
