Gino D’Acampo wasn’t happy with Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby when he returned to This Morning after a bout of illness.
The chef was forced to call in sick last week, and directed Holly and Phil over the phone as they filled in for his cooking segment to make a pasta dish.
As he returned to the ITV show today, Phil joked he was ready to step in again and was ready to debut his very own recipe – the pea sandwich.
But speaking from the kitchen, Gino let Phil know he wasn’t letting him anywhere near his segment again.
Sat between two giant Oscars, Holly said: "And look who’s turned up to work! Well, wonders never cease."
But wagging his finger in the air, Gino said: "Let’s not make a fuss about me coming back, one day off I took in 13 years, one day off.
"And by the way, by the way, the only thing you had to do was a plate of pasta, it was an absolute shambles the way you did it, it wasn’t presented well, you didn’t tell people the tips, see, this shows you how difficult it is to do my job."
Phillip hit back: "Well if you looked at Twitter that day I think you’ll find we did rather well, people were saying, ‘Sorry, Gino who?’"
Holly’s face said it all as she sat with her mouth agape in shock.
Last week, the pair were left to cook his Valentine’s pasta dish – much to the chagrin of Gino, who they managed to get on the phone.
Gino yelled down the phone, dismayed at their attempts, as he demanded: "What are you doing? What are you doing?"
A giggling Holly then threw the pasta at what she thought was the window to check whether it was done, not realising that it was actually a huge plasma screen.
The whole situation left viewers in hysterics.
* This Morning airs weekdays from 10.30am on ITV
