Hollyoaks star Adam Woodward looks unrecognisable four months after quitting soap and huge career change

HOLLYOAKS star Adam Woodward has been spotted looking unrecognisable four months after quitting the soap for a huge career change.

The actor took to Instagram to show off his new look – smiling for the camera as he wrestled with a friend to the floor with a Brazilian Ju Jitsu move.

Adam, 29, rose to fame in ITV soap Emmerdale as Grant before going on to play Brody Hudson in Channel 4's Hollyoaks back in 2017.

The character found himself wrapped up in a number of tricky storylines throughout his appearance before he quit the soap last year.

Tense scenes saw him be sexually assaulted by his football coach Buster Smith – played by Nathan Sussex – when he was just a teenager.

Elsewhere, viewers watched his toxic relationship with Sienna Blake, played by Anna Passey, unfold – as well as his reunion with brother Scott (Ross Adams).

Adam quit the soap in September, with the plans first put into motion for him to leave "before Covid hit" as the actor revealed he "knew where Brody was going".

He told The Express of conversations months before his departure: "We were discussing where to take Brody or whether his time was going to be wrapped up."

Now, Adam has turned his attention to a totally new career in competing in martial arts competitions, and looks very different from his soap days.

Four months after his last episode aired, the star revealed he has grown out his hair to form long curls, and has beefed up in the gym.

Various social media snaps reveal the slow growth of Adam's brunette locks, neatly tucking it behind his ears before unleashing his long curls.

While videos document his impressive weight loss and rippling abdominals after months of working out in the gym.

The Ju Jitsu blue belt, who has recently taken part in a number of UK competitions, could be seen smiling for the camera in one black and white snap.

"Just two grown men enjoying a cuddle," he captioned the snap, as fans rushed to the comments section to gush over Adam's changing appearance.

"Go on Adam, love this," one wrote, as a second added: "It's the big grin for me."

It comes months after Adam waved goodbye to Hollyoaks after four years.

The star had his contract extended through the UK lockdowns to give his character the proper send off he deserved in September 2021.

He stressed it was a mutual decision to bring the character's time on the show to an end, insisting he wanted to go with a "bang" in an interview with Digital Spy.
