I was on a huge daytime soap – now I make money from a totally different ‘normal’ job | The Sun

REBECCA Lacey was in the BBC dramas Doctors, and Monarch of the Glen but now she has a very different job altogether.

The actress, 58, played the role of Laura Tyler in BBC soap Doctors from 2012 to 2013.


But it’s Monarch of the Glen for which she’s best known, where she starred as Irene Stuart in the fourth series.

She also played Dr. George Woodman in Casualty and Hilary in May to December.

And it doesn’t end there where acting credits are concerned for the talented star, but Rebecca decided to move into a completely new career.

Rebecca now works as an abstract artist and showcases her very impressive work over on social media.

In her bio, the actress describes herself as an “abstract painter and actor,” and details her current online exhibition, which is named Into The Light.

She also states that she puts 10 per cent of the money she makes from her art into a Theatre Artists Fund.

Rebecca shows off her beautiful work to her fans, and in a recent post the star posed besides the different artworks while at a pop up stall.

Discussing her passion while recently revealing a huge new painting, she penned: “I was so thrilled to get back outside and paint as the weather finally got a bit better.

“Everything looked so abundant and alive. I was trying to connect with some of that feverish explosion of colour that happens in Spring.”

She’s also appeared at various exhibitions and has a busy studio packed full with her impressive abstract art.

The Doctors star sells her artwork over on her website, with paintings selling for hundreds of pounds.

Rebecca is married to husband Paul Harrison and they share two children together – Betsy and Charlie.
