I'M A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here's Matt Hancock has raked in close to £500,000 since the start of the year, it has been revealed.

Records show that the MP netted the cash by appearing on the radio and TV, writing articles and making speeches.


Matt, 44, charges up to £2,500-an-hour for his work.

MPs must declare all outside income on the Register of Members’ Financial Interests.

And his two most recent payments show last month was paid £1,000 by ITN Productions for an appearance on the Andrew Neil Show, and £800 from London's King's College for a speaking engagement.

He also took £10,000 for four hours' work when addressing bankers, and got £45,000 for taking part in I’m Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins in September.

Matt's total payments add up to £69,000 and he is still to declare his estimated £400,000 fee for taking part in I’m a Celebrity.

Since his jungle stint, which saw him finish in third place, the former Health Secretary has confirmed he will step down as an MP at the next election.

It comes after he sparked fury by shirking his MP duties to appear on the ITV1 reality show.

Matt has now signed up with one of the UK's top speaking agencies.

He is on the books at Chartwell Speakers, alongside Graham Norton and Michael McIntyre.

His blurb on the company's site says: "As Health Secretary, Matt was central to the nation's response to the biggest pandemic in over 100 years."

Matt quit the Cabinet in June 2021 after he was caught breaking his own social distancing rules by smooching aide Gina Coladangelo, 44, in his office.

In an excerpt from his book Pandemic Diaries: The Inside Story Of Britain's Battle Against Covid, the West Suffolk MP said telling wife Martha he cheated was the "very worst conversation of my life".

He told of feeling "wretched" as he confessed, sparked by a call from anewspaper that learned of the affair.

Matt said falling in love with Ms Coladangelo "felt outside my control".
