Big Brother has entered its final week, but things won't be any less dramatic for the housemates as a shock twist is set to see three housemates axed – but everything is not quite as it seems.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, the official Big Brother account has revealed what's in store for the housemates as they approach the final.

They wrote: "HUGE NEWS… The final week of Big Brother is set to be the most explosive yet.

"Right now the Housemates are making their first face-to-face nominations of the series, with the top three most nominated facing a shock IMMEDIATE Eviction."

They continued: "However, little do they know that instead of being sent straight home they will be sent to a secret Task Room to monitor the other Housemates and hear the fall-out from their 'shock departure'.

"You will then have the chance to vote to evict two of these Housemates, with the saved one RETURNING to the House to confront those that evicted them.

"The battle for the £100K cash prize is well and truly on! Find out more tonight on Big Brother: Late & Live #BBUK"

Reacting to the announcement, one fan wrote: "I was wondering whether there’d be a fake eviction, this is amazing cannot wait to see this tomorrow."

However, not everyone was a fan of the twist, with one reply reading: "As if the housemates will believe 3, yes three, housemates have just suddenly been evicted.

"This is gonna be terrible and unbelievable. But I hope I’m proved wrong. #BBUK."

While another argued: "See, this would have been good in a earlier week, the final week? Meh… Another reason it should be longer than 6 weeks (and on Saturdays) for the next series."

It comes after Friday's live eviction left viewers shocked as fan-favourite housemate Trish was axed from the house alongside Chanelle in a double eviction.

Since being evicted from the house Trish was scheduled to appear on Big Brother: Late & Live on Sunday night, but was axed from the schedule after a number of her old tweets came to light.

In a statement on social media, Trish apologised for the "harmful stereotypes perpetuated" in the now-deleted tweets."

And a spokesperson for Big Brother said: "This weekend, we have been made aware of concerning historical tweets. We are currently looking into why they were not identified by the independent supplier we engage to review the digital footprint of potential Housemates as part of our pre-checks."
