The Duggar family is in the spotlight thanks to Josh Duggar once again. Josh was arrested in April 2021 for allegedly obtaining child sexual abuse images, and it has fans and critics alike wondering what’s to come for the family. While the Duggars haven’t posted much new content to Instagram, Jill Duggar seems just fine, as she posted swimsuit pics while the chaos occurs to the rest of her family.
What happened to the Duggars’ oldest son, Josh Duggar?
Josh has caused plenty of trouble in the past for the Duggar family. Now, in 2021, his troubles have become ultra-serious. He was arrested on April 29, 2021, for receiving and possessing child pornography. This, of course, comes a year and a half after the raid by Homeland Security.
So far, Josh has plead not guilty to the charges, and he was able to get an early release on bond. And everyone’s wondering what’s to come for Josh’s wife, Anna Duggar. Anna is currently pregnant with their seventh child, and she’s limited her Instagram comments since the arrest.
This isn’t the first time Anna’s had to walk through a difficult situation with Josh. Back in 2015, it came to light that Josh allegedly molested a few of his younger sisters and a babysitter. He’s also been unfaithful to Anna in the past. While they were able to work through the pain and sustain their marriage, we have yet to see how the latest arrest will affect them.

With so much negativity surrounding the Duggar family, it’s not surprising that they’re not spending too much time addressing Josh’s situation. Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar released a statement, as did Jinger and Jill. But, considering how separate Jill is from her family, it seems she might be less affected by the news.
On May 12, 2021, Jill posted photos of herself in her new swimwear to Instagram. The photos show her smiling and enjoying the outdoors while wearing the new looks. Not only does Jill look happy, but fans and critics are also very aware that posting swimsuit photos of any kind would not fly for Jill’s parents. The Duggars are all about staying as modest as possible.
It looks like Jill is getting some positive feedback from her siblings, too.
“You’re beautiful, Jill,” Joy-Anna Duggar commented on the photos.
Amy Duggar, who also doesn’t seem to have the greatest relationship with Jim Bob and Michelle, commented with a fire emoji.
Why did Jill and Derick leave ‘Counting On’?
Those who’ve kept up with Jill and her husband, Derick Dillard, know they haven’t been on Counting On with the rest of the Duggar family in many seasons. And they’ve talked about their decision to leave.
“We left the show three years ago now because, basically, our family goals that we had for ourselves didn’t align with what we found out … we ended up finding out that we didn’t have as much control over our lives as it related to the show,” Jill said in a YouTube video.
Derick had a few words as well. “We had to quit filming because we were kind of put between a rock and a hard place where we had to choose between our family goals or filming,” he said.
Jill also noted leaving Counting On was the “best thing” for her marriage and kids, and we don’t expect they’ll be back. Given the current situation with Josh, we’ll have to wait and see if TLC renews the show at all. Either way, it looks like Jill is happy she’s living her truth and experiencing life to the fullest.
