The news comes after the 30-year-old beauty hinted last month that she's back in touch with the One Direction star, 25.
YouTube star Danielle dated Liam for two years after they met when she was a dancer on The X Factor.
She moved on with model and fitness enthusiast Joe Hunt, while Liam hooked up with Cheryl.
In an exclusive chat with The Sun Online at Sure Women x Reebok UK's event, she confirmed her recent break-up and said: "My boyfriend and I unfortunately broke up a few months ago, all on good terms.
"There is a lot of respect and love there.
"I have nothing bad to say about him. For me, I am purely career focused and work focused. And when it is meant to happen it will happen, that is how I like to live life.
She went on: "I was with my ex boyfriend for three years. (Breaking up) was nothing traumatic. Onwards and upwards. You’ve got to have a positive outlook."
Asked how Liam is doing now, she added: "I'm sure he is fine, doing whatever he is doing, as am I."
Her split comes after fans begged Danielle to rekindle her romance with Liam last month.
The fitness star, who has 1.2million Instagram followers and 2.7million on Twitter, asked fans to quiz her about her life, and one asked: “You missing Liam?” and she replied: “Why, where’s he gone?”
Another said: “Are you still in touch with Liam?” and Danielle cryptically typed back: “I’m gonna keep that between him and I.”
As people noticed what she was doing, they bombarded Danielle with more questions.
One fan typed: “Are you and Liam still friends,” she told them: “You’re amazing and yes I’m avoiding the question.”
Danielle was far more straight forward when one of Liam’s devoted fans asked if she liked his music.
She said: “Yes it’s catchy and hard to avoid. His new song is great, you’ll love it.”
Danielle’s social media channels were inundated with fans begging to know whether they'd get back together.
One told their followers: “The way Danielle keeps answering but also swerving questions about Liam on her Instagram and how I truly cannot tell if they’re friends or if some tea is brewing.”
Danielle, who teaches the Danielle Peazer Fitness Method on YouTube, spoke about interacting with her fans on social media, and added to The Sun Online: "I try to interact with fans as much as possible. I do always look through my DMs, messages and comments. I grew up without those people to look up … I try to keep my (Instagram) stories light-hearted."
